he is backing down again. He is begging the CONS. The article is in the New York times. What was this garbage they told us about it would be different in the fall what about Baird the Dem supporting bush. Are there a lot of trolls posting here because the only subject is Craig and we all know he will be leaving soon. Any posts today about the three repug senators whose plane was shot at while leaving Iraq...

4. You are sort of all over the map
I do agree with you on the Craig trolls though - they are just flash in the pans compared to long lasting trolls who've participated in this forum for a long time.

Also I support Harry Reid.

6. I thought Reid said" he was going to take in account the republican
view------as long as it was the same as his"...I seem to think Daily Kos or Think Progress had it.

Reid says he'll compromise on Iraq

Published: Aug. 31, 2007 at 7:51 AM
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he is willing to work with Republicans to find a compromise to limit troop deployments to Iraq.

Reid said the coming weeks will mark "one of the last opportunities" to change the course of the war in Iraq and he is willing to push aside his previous demand for a U.S. withdrawal from the country in spring 2008 in favor of a compromise, The Washington Post reported Friday.

"I don't think we have to think that our way is the only way," Reid said at his Las Vegas office. "I'm not saying, 'Republicans, do what we want to do.' Just give me something that you think you would like to do, that accomplishes some or all of what I want to do."

"I don't think we had any choice," Reid told the Post of seeking a compromise. "I have no regrets about the way that I have tried to marshal the troops. It's been hard to keep all the Democrats together but we've done that."

US lawmakers' plane under fire in Iraq

8/30/2007, 7:27 p.m. EDT
By BEN EVANS
The Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) — A military cargo plane carrying three senators and a House member was forced to take evasive maneuvers and dispatch flares to avoid ground fire after taking off from Baghdad on Thursday night.

The lawmakers said their plane, a C-130, was under fire from three rocket-propelled grenades over the course of several minutes as they left for Amman, Jordan.

"It was a scary moment," said Sen. Mel Martinez, R-Fla., who said he had just taken off his body armor when he saw a bright flash outside the window. "Our pilots were terrific. ... They banked in one direction and then banked the other direction, and they set off the flares."
