Hi everyone. First I would like to say that
I am overwhelmed by the response to this
thread and I would like to thank everyone for
posting their best wishes .


To make a long story short, I was hospitalized
3 weeks and they detected that I had
diabetes. I had to stay hospitalized
until today when the hospital released
me.

I also had some mental problems. If you
remember the thread I posted re the rough
patch, I think you will understand.


Now I have bills and mail to go though.

I've been looking for a post from her since her last milestones. I don't know how I missed that, but I'm glad to know she's out of the hospital.

OMIGOSH! I admit I don't see the congratulatory posts and all much lately, because I kind of became a cherry-picking poster, just popping in occasionally when and where I felt like. But when I was a newbie, newyawker's welcome and congratulatory post count topics made my day and made me feel like an integral part of DU.

If there is anything I could do, if a donation would help, or whatever, I'd certainly do it. Does anyone know her well enough to know if she needs anything we could help with?

I remember that when TM was ill a few years back, the get-well thread lifted his spirits when I brought the printout to the hospital. newyawker deserves more than just a thread, but it would be a nice start. :)

14. I'm ashamed to say I didn't realize she was gone that long

I always assumed she was still flitting around welcoming newbies and posting milestones and birthday greetings like usual.

She made this newbie feel welcome all those years ago.

I didn't even realize she was having problems. I wish there were some way to contact her and let her know how much we care about her.

I, too, noticed that I hadn't seen anything in a while -- but since I tend to flutter from topic to topic, I just assumed I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. But I remember full well who it was who first welcomed me to DU. And who would always remember my birthday.
