"I challenge anyone in Congress and the President to come out here and if they'll do 15 months,
I'll do another fifteen months."

This was video from a soldier from The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer tonight, with a special report from Iraq. The soldier also said, "We were supposed to be getting ready to leave in six days, but we're gona be here another three months. Those people in COngress have the brains of a two year old for not stopping this."

The reporter said the soldiers she was with were exhausted. Another said he is on and off every six hours, so you never get any rest from the war.

The troops are also fighting PTSD along with the exhaustion, especially in seeing so many civilians ad children hurt in this mess.

The beginning of the segment showed a Bradley Fight Vehicle flipped, on fire, "the six soldiers inside burning to death."

The segment was aired with a warning for its graphic content.

2. We usually watch it and will for certain thanks to your heads up.
Maybe this is what it is going to take to awaken those who just talk the 'happy talk' about Iraq.

9. The problem is that the Iraq-Happy-Talkers are not watching
The NewsHour. They are wasting their time with O'Lielly and Faux news or some other cheerleading outfit hired by bushco. The beginning of the report was stunning. It was all I could think about when I posted my OP. But then they start talking about emotional and brain impact on the troops. Wow.

10. I know that the people who really need to see this program wouldn't
be watching....I knew it when I wrote it but hopefully, if nothing else,it provided us with more knowledge of reasons to end the war.

3. He could change it from 15 months to 15 days and still not get any takers
Heck, even 15 hours would be too much for some of 'em.

4. Maybe if we planted lots of brush
and gave him a chain saw and a run down shed if we could fool him to think it was Crawford? Hell, he's been on 'vacation' for 466 days since bein' preznit.

5. Here is a link. There was alot on PTSD, brain stress, affect on the
prefrontal cortex, etc. Two counselors who are working with vets are in the segment.

6. That actually should be a requirement, come to think about it.
At least 6 congresscritters should required to be in ACTION (not in the frigging green zone or similar safer place) when there is a war going on. Minimum stay is 3 months, and they can rotate in and out. 3 dems and 3 repukes. No one over the age of 75.

I'm liking this.

Why wouldn't this be an excellent policy?

busting in that old woman's house, she could be anyone's grandmother, disgusting what we are doing to those people out in Iraq, they did not ask for this. sickening absolutely sickening how they are killing civilians.

How would we feel if we had soldiers crash into our houses, food for thought.

11. but there's no graphic footage, just the vehicle on fire
and the announcement that soldiers are inside. No actual shots of them or anything. I think that's why they didn't issue any warning.
