Edited on Fri Aug-31-07 09:15 PM by Rosco T.
(for the Adobe impaired)

On Saturday, September 8, 2007, the following channels will be preempted for select
college football games:

The Weather Channel (XM 125): 6PM 11PM ET
Air America (XM 167): 6PM 11PM ET
America Right (XM 166): 6PM 11PM ET

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will make every attempt to
minimize these occurrences.

MSNBC was had gone to mostly repeats of 'Dateline' programs,
the daytime news was a joke
and they weren't allowed to broadcast Imus.

It wasn't worth the bandwidth for 23 hours a day of ick for one hour of Olbermann (durn it).

and MSNBC was gone a LONG DAMN TIME (September '06ish) before POTUS'08 came along... so you're mixing apple and oranges and coming up with bovinestuff.

POTUS'08 is a damn wonderful idea, people are hearing stuff that they won't easily be able to hear anywhere else.

44. cause they are full, multiple games scheduled at the same time.
if you have 7 games scheduled and 5 channels, you are dropping a 'one time' event, and don't EVEN talk about 'tape-delaying' a sports event, all it takes is one loudmouth to spoil it on another broadcast.

they picked their target so that YOU WON'T MISS A SINGLE SHOW on AAR with the sunday rebroadcasts (don't know and don't care about the shows on America Right).

on College Saturdays and NFL Sundays, both Sirius Left 146 and Sirius Patriot 144 are pre-empted for football. Also, Sirius Patriot 144 is one of the Driver/Crew channels for NASCAR. It does make sense, however.

38. actually Saturday and Sunday are mirrors
a lot of 'best of' from the week, however

Saturday original

9A-10A "Marc Sussman’s Money Message"

2P–3P "Go Vegan" with Bob Linden

3P-6P "Ring of Fire" with Robert Kennedy Jr., Mike Papantonio, & David Bender

6P-7P "7 Days in America" with Mark Green, Arianna Huffington, & Bob Kerrey

7P-8P "The Time Is Now" with the Reverend Dr. James Forbes

8P-10P "Clout" with Richard Greene

Sunday

9A-10A (rebroadcast) "7 Days in America" with Mark Green, Arianna Huffington, & Bob Kerrey

1P-2P "Radio Nation" with Laura Flanders

2P-4P (rebroadcast) "Clout" with Richard Greene

4P-7P "Seder on Sunday" with Sam Seder

7P-8P (rebroadcast) "State of Belief" with Reverend Welton Gaddy

8P-11P (rebroadcast) "Ring of Fire" with Robert Kennedy Jr., Mike Papantonio, & David Bender

since the pre-empts are on Saturday, you still get a chance to hear it on Sunday

Notice that Faux News Talk will air unscathed.

I'm really sick of XM's crap - they offed MSNBC (which was my only access to KO down on my boat) for no reason other than it gave us Olbermann, who is the biggest threat to the corporatocrisy that is entities LIKE XM.

Having people come to 167 for sports could be good. After the game, they leave it on that station. The next time they fire up their radio they may hear something they don't hear on the MSM or hate radio. Get them in the front door.

I am totally disgusted. I have 2 xm subscriptions SOLELY for AAR. I listen to nothing else. This is an outrage.

Overemphasis on sports and entertainment is one of the reasons media is failing and democracy is dying in this country. Of all the channels they have it seems like a slap in the face for them to prempt AAR. It's like the Mexican trucks being allowed to freely travel on US highways over the LABOR DAY weekend. Right in your f*ing face.
