Has anyone else seen John Pilger's

I'm about 1/3 of the way through and just in the last five minutes I've gone from rejoicing for the people of Venezuela to being enraged at my own government!

I just don't know what else to say without getting a visit from Agent Mike, which is VERY not my intention. And I still have an hour to watch.

1. Yes - highly recommended
We had it on TV in the UK on one of our normal, not cable or satellite only, channels.

Plenty here of our TV documentary stuff to watch too : http://www.thedossier.ukonline.co.uk/ Just click on videos and plough your way through them. Pilgers latest one , which you can download , is listed under "Cover Ups."

2. Thank you, edwardlindy. Someone posted about this film and
provided the link yesterday, I think, and I just sat down to view the film and I thought I was outrage-fatigued until I got a third of the way in and found out there was a bit more outrage left in me.

We suspect the sort of activity portrayed so far in this film (I'm halfway through), but to see it laid out in such a way is a shock to the core. I'm having feelings that begin deep in my gut and well out to the very nerve endings throughout the total of my body. Rarely am I affected so.

3. I'm having trouble streaming it and that's annoying. But one of those
sites will work. I'm trying again this afternoon.

And, that's exactly how I felt when I figured out how we were "spreading democracy" in Latin America.

4. Watched it Last night
and was very depressed. I knew back then that we were messing around in the internal politics of Latin American countries, but not the extent of it.

The WoD was enraging, infuriating, galling, depressing, and that guy from the CIA that PIlger interviewed? Man, by the end of it I wanting beat him bloody. Or bet yet, leave him out in the middle of one of those uprisings he helped make sure were going to happen. What a completely arrogant POS.

9. Unfortunately that arrogant POS speaks for many Americans
who think the world is theirs to exploit for their own fun and profit. I met many of them when I lived in South America.

8. Thanks for posting it.
I just finished watching it and although much of it is not new to me, I do hope that those who don't know what our country has done and is doing in the name of democracy in other countries wake up and do something. Collectively we can effect change.

13. Every American Must See "War on Democracy".
John Pilger's "War on Democracy" is absolutely superb. It exposes the lies that stand behind the Bush-Cheney claims to "bring democracy" to the world. It details the U.S.'s support for the right wing coup against the elected Chavez government in Venezuela as well as that in Chile.

But, more than expose the horrors of right wing terror, it exposes the increasing strength of the peoples of Venezuela and elsewhere in Latin America to take back their countries from the control of the U.S. empire and to establish true participatory democracy in which the needs and development of human beings are the goals of the society.

The film concludes with an interview with President Hugo Chavez, quoting Victor Hugo: "Nothing in the world is as powerful as a idea whose time has come."

This film is a masterpiece.
