'DC Madam' defense likely to disclose evidence, identities deemed 'classified'

Citizens for Legitimate Government (CLG) has learned that so-called DC Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey, filed a pro se "Motion for Pretrial Conference to Consider Matters Relating to Classified Information" under the Classified Information Procedures Act.
This filing alerts the government that Palfrey's defense will likely involve the disclosure of evidence and identities presently deemed "Classified" by the U.S. government.

In an exclusive interview with CLG, Ms. Palfrey told Lori Price:

"My attorney, Mr. Sibley, and I, have very good reason to believe my case involves matters relating to national security and intelligence gathering operations. One has to remember I was in business in a city, which is home and host to some of the most powerful and connected men - not only in this country, but to foreign officials, dignitaries and businessmen from abroad for almost 13 years, from 1993 to 2006. Particularly, my firm was patronized by a significant number of Middle-Eastern clients over the years; most especially, prior to 9/11. I have contended from the onset and have stated accordingly on numerous occasions, that my situation has absolutely nothing to do with prostitution related issues. In great measure, my very rationale for breaking with Mr. Preston Burton, of late is he views my case as a simple - albeit grossly exaggerated - prostitution matter. There is something very disturbing and I would daresay highly secretive about the existence of my truly bizarre case. And I intend to uncover exactly what this is here."

Montgomery Blair Sibley, Attorney & Counselor at Law for http://deborahjeanepalfrey.com/">Deborah Jeane Palfrey, issued the following statement to CLG on 31 August 2007:

At the hearing before Judge Kessler on Tuesday, August 28th, the scheduled suppression hearing was adjourned until September 7th at 10:00 AM in Courtroom 26A. Before that suppression hearing, Judge Kessler will conduct a closed interview of Palfrey prior to determining Palfrey's motion to replace her present counsel, Preston Burton, with me, and allow Jeane to at times represent herself in what is known as Hybrid Representation.

Recently Palfrey retained the services of Cataphora, a small Silicon Valley search and data analysis company. The firm is assisting her in preparing her defense. A recent article regarding this collaboration is available from RedHerring.com.

Palfrey's filing is another twist in a story that outed Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) several weeks ago and threatens to complicate the lives and politics of more Washington power brokers.

Michael Collins contributed to this article.

15. It's that and more...

These guys have been doing this for a long, long time...now they're getting it.

Lots of fur flying in the halls of "management."

We have the worst ruling class around. They can't even clean up their own messes. But it is highly educational as to pervasive hypocrisy.

And they say we're strange;)

Even his wife let him off!

In 2000, Wendy Vitter told Newhouse News Service she could not be as forgiving as Livingston's wife or Hillary Clinton if her husband were unfaithful.

“I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary,” Mrs. Vitter told Newhouse News. “If he does something like that, I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony, trust me.”

18. My Prediction
If in fact, Vitter is a diaper wearer who likes to ....well you can imagine...I'm no shrink...but I'd call that a compulsion and unless he gets help. unlikely, sooner or later he'll give into it again. A diaper wearer's version of being a drunk.

28. There may be more to this than a joke
Remember Bob Altemeyer's research shows that Republican elected officials tend to be "double highs" (sorry no URL, I'm typing this away from my bookmarks). And recall that "double highs" are suspiciously similar in personality traits to sociopaths (no one has yet proven they are in fact sociopaths, but they sure look like it).

Now look at the sexual characteristics of sociopaths (google away): sociopaths are into kink and danger, always looking for a thrill. That may explain a whole lot of what we're seeing here.

29. So Now We Need To Know, What Came First, The Chicken Or The Egg?
"Bob Altemeyer's research shows that Republican elected officials tend to be double highs"

Is the party structure, and the people they deal with, such that people involved tend to develop these tendencies, or are they attracted to, and attractive to the republicon party because they have these traits? Like attracting like?

32. I can speculate (but have no concrete science)
Edited on Sun Sep-02-07 02:52 AM by Oak2004
I'm an ex- liberal Republican who often says I saw my once-diverse former party "taken over" by extremists. That's not quite true: the "takeover" was not from the outside (as "taken over" implies) but was that of a longstanding faction of the GOP (the corporatist/fascist wing) in cahoots with newcomers who served as the foot soldiers the corporatists had previously lacked (the Christian Right, formerly known as the "Dixiecrats"). This ugly alliance deliberately drove out the liberals, moderates, and pretty much anyone who wasn't either already one of them or so bereft of principle that they'd change sides and join right in.

Both parties have historically had their double-highs: what changed, starting around the Nixon era, was that the Republican double-highs invited the (formerly) Democratic double-highs to come join them, at a time when the Democratic Party was trying to rid themselves of their double-highs.

Ever since then there has been a realignment: excepting those who were attracted by Reaganism's propaganda without understanding anything of its underpinnings, and exempting the die-hards who've fought to save the old Republican Party long after that fight was lost, non double-highs have trended towards the Democrats, double-highs have made a beeline to the Republicans.

Without a doubt some of the great old Republicans would have never been Republicans had the Republican Party always been the party of double-highs/sociopaths. Could you imagine Abraham Lincoln, or TR, or Senator George Aiken, or Mayor Lindsey as Republicans today? It's impossible even to imagine Barry Goldwater as a modern Republican. It's painful to have watched people with family roots in the old Republican Party, like former senator Lincoln Chafee, try to hold on to a party where they were only welcome for who they caucused with (i.e. how their naive loyalty can be exploited to achieve power). I know why I became a Republican when I did: it offered me as a liberal an alternative to the conservative Daley Democratic machine. Now, the Democrats are the only option, both national in scope and electable, for people who don't secretly raise their hands and click their heels when alone at home in front of a mirror, regardless of how corrupt their local Democratic Party may be.

Quite simply, the Republican Party is, today, what the Democratic Party would have been had the Dixiecrats found a way to take exclusive control of the Democratic Party and drive out progressives and moderates (trust me, they would have had done just that to the Dems, if only they knew how to, and Alterman's research shows there still are double-high Democrats, just not in anything like the numbers among Republicans). And so the power hungry gravitate to it like flies to feces.

Edit...now is the time for finger pointing at the toe tapping GOP!

The GOP is fast approaching a day when all Americans come to the realization, that the stench of the GOP's totally oral, and bogus "morals" and "values" exceeds even the grave danger to our collective morality and well being, than even the much maligned and dreaded Clenis Menace once constituted to our Gawd fearin' nation of laws and the lawless!
