I remember hearing that Craig "might not run" ...BEFORE the bathroom thing popped up.
If this "maybe he won't run" thing was being talked about after July, it could have been that he planned to just quietly get outta Dodge, and thought that no one would ever find out.

Apparently he told NO ONE..so if he managed to retire before the whole thing leaked out, he would have been home free..

That may have been why it took him so long to actually go back and do the guilty plea. Maybe he had been figuring it all out, so that no one would have to find out..

Does anyone else remember hearing about his possible retirement too?

1. Could this mean that he is being used as a message to the Bush Base?

Just how experienced WAS that cop in making this kind of case? Did he know better? Why did he jump-the-gun before he had what the state would have needed?

I know all of that is just tooooo Rovian, but one does wonder.

2. The cop probably did not even know who he was..until
Craig gave him his business card and said "What do you think of that?"

and Craig was a lawyer, so he had to know that he could gotten off the hook in court.. His first and only plan was to bury this so no one would know..

3. Only as a wishful thinking rumor
Look how he tried to cling to his job after the whole thing leaked out. I think he fully expected it to be hushed up quickly the way his escapades with pages were, and they were far more serious. He just didn't count on the constant tide of ridicule emanating from the net.

I think he'd have stayed in that job until they carried him out, feet first.

4. How many pages; how recently, please?
Not that either question matters; I'm just curious about what we REALLY know about Craig.
