Omaha lost its collective mind today and it was hilarious...

I had to go to the bank this morning and I couldn't get near the one close to my house. It's in the old market on 11th Street between Harney and Jackson. The Farmer's Market and the Septemberfest have the entire downtown area tied up. Anyway, I decided that I'd go up to 35th and Farnam to the main bank. The drive-through is open until noon. I totally forgot about the 'demonstration' that's supposed to happen today in front of the Mexican Consul. The National Socialist Party clowns are supposedly here this today. And at 10:00 a.m. they had 'Mobile Command Posts' for the Nebraska State Patrol, the Omaha Police Department, the Omaha Fire Department, ambulances, fire trucks, you name it, they had it, strung out for two blocks. I they had cops blocking off all the streets heading north from Farnam. People who were trying to get into their streets had to show I.D. I mean you would have thought it was Watts in 1968. There was so much over-kill it was hilarious.

They give people like those Nazis an exaggerated sense of their own importance when the do stull like this. A few police officers and it would be fine. Some traffic control. But this was just nuts. I'm not going over to 35th and Dodge to check it out but I seriously doubt that the people here are gonna be turning out in force demonstrating for either side. Especially when something so near and dear to all their little hearts is happening today. Something that these people live for all year. The most important thing that happens in this state for most of 'em. NEBRASKA'S SEASON OPENER IS TODAY. Playing Nevada.

4. the nazi`s had a demonstration in a small town near here

the cops decided to block off traffic in a 4 block radius, put the entire law enforcement-state, county, city on over time...ya it was a huge deal. the nazi`s consisted of two women.
