How could an airport restroom be cruisy in this day and age? |
|
I admit to being curious about this. Airports would seem to be a very inconvenient place to have any kind of meeting given how hard they are to move around in. A cruisy restroom would have to have at least some steady clientele to stay cruisy. I can certainly see bus stations, colleges and the like. I also could see airports before 9-11 but post 9-11 there seems no way a restroom could have the kind of rep the police suscribe to it.

1. Frequent fliers? Layovers are BORING. If I thought there were a place where I could spend my time... |

having sex with random women at O'Hare, I'd be there in two shakes of a lamb's tail.
Is Minneapolis a big hub airport where people have to wait for several hours for connecting flights?

Long layovers I didn't think of those. My recent travels have involved fairly short layovers so I just didn't think.

5. Yes. MSP is the 15th or 16th largest in the world. |
|
It's one of Northwest's hubs (along with DTW, MEM, NRT and AMS), and there is a LOT of traffic from elsewhere -- about 60% of the passengers are not from Minnesota.

I spend a lot of time in airports and I have yet to see anything going on.
But then again, I wasn't looking for anything.

The restroom in question at MSP is inside the security checkpoints, so everyone who might use it is either a ticketed passenger or an airport or airline employee, minimizing any possible security threat. Furthermore, if you want a really anonymous encounter, what better place to find one than at a large airport that's a major airline hub? Most of the people you would encounter would likely be from somewhere else, so there's very little probability you might run into them in your own town at, say, a PTA meeting or a Republican caucus...

7. I have been stuck in DC's National Airport for hours. |

Unlike many airports that totally empty out between flights, National is stuffed the entire time. Finding playmates in the toity would be nothing.
From what I've seen, Houston is similar. I've only been in the Minneapolis Airport a few times, but it seems like a total madhouse.
