24. The Republicans never cared about states rights nor balanced budgets.
The Republicans never cared about states rights nor balanced budgets. Republicans only used the states rights facade because Democrats held power in congress and passed progressive legislation over the years. The Republicans used the balanaced budget facade in order to increase defense spending and then squeeze social program spending and eventually destroy the new deal and take our country back to 1929 when wealthy white republicans jumped out of tall buildings when their stock portfolios crashed in the stock market.

Republicans care about enabling radical capitalism instead of responsible, rewarding capitalism that Democrats support.

Republicans also care about radical religionism where a theocratic government will dictate the lives of their people.

Forget about balanced budget and states rights speeches by Republicans. It appears about the money and religious authoritarianism. Sinclair Lewis said that Fascists in this country will wrap their fascism in the flag and carry a cross with it.

Unfortunately the Republicans have also wrapped 3700 dead soldiers and their coffins in the flag as well with their illegal invasion of Iraq which never attacked us.

4. The Easter Bunny is more real than Republican fiscal responsibility.
I would get chocolate and marshmallow bunnies every year at Easter when I was a kid, but I don't ever remember getting a good budget out of a Republican. QED. :D

6. This is what it looks like on paper....

All US national debt since 1776:

$2,700,000,000,000 - All Presidents except Reagan, Bush41, Bush43 (30%)
$6,300,000,000,000 - Reagan, Bush41, Bush43 (70%)
$9,000,000,000,000 - 9 trillion dollars

Trudeau is the oracle of our times....

K&R!!!

"how could the grownups, do this to us...."

26. Love the pic of the kid cogitating
When my father was reading the sunday funnies on the pot, and we asked where he was, she would say he is cogitating.
Must say adults should be cogitating or thinking because the kids are getting screwed.

12. What 'Fiscal Conservative' really means:

"Before the Civil War the Democratic slave masters used to have anti-black conventions where they called us "out-our-names." But after the Civil War, when they had lost power and were trying to get it back, they knew they had to change their language. So instead of holding anti-black conventions, the same former Democratic slave masters had anti-taxpayer conventions - since they were being taxed to pay for the new freedmen's education, health care, and housing. They were known as fiscal conservatives, and they called the Radical Republicans of that day - who were supporting such programs - "tax and spend liberals." That's the origin of the phrase!"

14. Here's where it came from: The Big Lie.
The same place that the myths of smaller government, liberal media, getting big government off our backs, states' rights, family values, strict constructionism, original intent, activist vs. non-activist judges, and all their other fucking lies came from.

28. So appropriate
It is amazing that Republicans still pretend to be the party of the fiscally responsible.

In my mind they have always been the part of the quick buck with little consideration for long term planning.
