I'm concerned about Hurricane Felix....(Just recently upgraded to a strong Cat 3)
...the current forecast discussion calls for a trough at 500mb to displace the high that currently is holding any tropical cyclone from entering the Gulf. That being said, and since the NHC has now included the U.S. breakpoints in the Wind Probs, everyone should monitor this storm and take appropriate measures. 2. It's because the Bermuda High has been pretty strong....
...with the beginning of the seasonal shift, troughs will create the usual bowling gutters for hurricanes to track north.

3. There have been some investigational areas off the coast

...that did not form up. But so far all of them were north enough to head eastward away from the US according to the preliminary models they were running on them. Knock on wood we may luck out again this year, but Mexico surely has not.
