What an interesting week it has been. I was away and had only

moments of access to DU and saw/heard very little news. I remember last Monday I checked in for a bit and read here that Gonzo was FINALLY gone; and so soon after Rove had resigned too.

I came back late last night and today I have been reviewing DU threads. Unfortunately, most of the Rove and Gonzo threads are now archived and I couldn't get to them...bummer.

While I was away the anniversary of Katrina occurred. I can't believe that rat bastard * went back there and that people are willing to smile and be photographed with the criminal. I wasn't directly effected by Katrina yet it is forever burned into my mind. And the fact that so much money is being spent/lost in Iraq while the Gulf Coast remains in ruins is enraging to me. Thanks to those who posted reminder threads with the images of that horrible disaster and the images of * eating cake and singing and scowling as he flew over the damage. I will never forget Katrina.

On another topic, apparently this week another GOP "family values" member was outed for his hypocritical behavior and for his lies. Craig's specific circumstance aside, what struck me was the sheer number of outings that have occurred as of late. This cannot be by coincidence. It seems to me that somewhere behind the scenes there is a concerted effort to bring this behavior to light. Perhaps I am wrong but with so many Rethugs being caught with their pants down, especially those "family values" types it just seems to me like someone or some group of someones got fed up and began to fashion a course of action to work on this problem. Just an idea.

It's nice to see you DU. Glad that you are here. I regret that I was away during such an active time. Isn't that the way it goes, I check in faithfully almost everyday and August was, until my departure, quite uneventful what with Congress on leave then Rove, Gonzo and Snow all departed and another hypocritical Rethug bites the dust. Hmm. I'd say good riddance to all.

I wonder if * and Dick are speaking these days? I remember a few months back there were stories about them not talking. Anyone heard anything about this recently?

PS If anyone here can hook me up with links to Rove and Gonzo news I would appreciate it. Or, if you would like to share your thoughts with me about these departures I would like that too.

You might want to go to SEARCH, type in a name, give it a time frame and then read the threads that come up.
