"Dead Certain," Bush is a monster!
Edited on Sun Sep-02-07 08:29 PM by ProSense

Bush's great ambition: wealthy boredom

· President tells of regrets in office and retirement plans
· Dead Certain author given rare vision of private life

Ed Pilkington in New York
Monday September 3, 2007
The Guardian

Jimmy Carter has dedicated his life after the White House to conflict resolution around the world. Presidents George Bush the elder and Bill Clinton have campaigned together on behalf of communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina. So how does President George Bush junior imagine spending his retirement years?

"I can just envision getting in the car, getting bored, going down to the ranch," he says. He also has big plans for making money. "I'll give some speeches, to replenish the ol' coffers," says Mr Bush, who is already estimated to be worth $20m. "I don't know what my dad gets - it's more than 50-75 , and "Clinton's making a lot of money".

<...>

During the course of six one-hour interviews, Mr Bush, feet up on his desk, munching on low-fat hotdogs, tells Draper of the loneliness of the US commander-in-chief. "Self-pity is the worst thing that can happen to a presidency. This is a job where you can have a lot of self-pity," Mr Bush says.

When it all gets too much for the president, his wife Laura storms to the rescue. "She reminds me that I decided to do this," he tells Draper.

<...>

The book's title, Dead Certain, is ominously ambiguous, given the 3,728 US personnel - and by some estimates more than 70,000 civilians - who have died in Iraq since the 2003 invasion. For those around the world who are already perplexed by Mr Bush's strategy in Iraq, his comments to Draper will not be reassuring.

Bush is a traitor!

Rove chokes out a long and wrong (delusional) article trying to put a positive spin on Bush's legacy

2. I hope he's lives a long time and is miserable
What a thing to wish on a person. But I think he's earned it.

20. I hope he keeps all his marbles too (what he has of them, anyway)
And perfect eyesight and hearing, so he can see all the books and TV shows -- and hear all the comments people make, disparaging his wretched administration.

7. It doesn't sound to me that Laura is "storming to the rescue"
it sounds more like she's saying "you got yourself into this mess..." And I picture her saying this with a martini in one hand and a cigarette in the other.

The Minneapolis paper had an article about this book today. From what I read, I got the impression that it's something of a puff piece. At one point Bush is apparently quoted as saying people have no idea how many tears he has shed (presumably over the dead in Iraq). And, he also says he always has God's shoulder to cry on :puke:

8. It's not a ranch!
And every time he calls it a ranch, he proves he ain't no cowboy. Show me the cattle, ya damned city slicker. Show me the horses. Show me the sheep, oh wait...

9. Good god.
He sheds more tears than anyone he knows? Is there anyone on the planet more self-absorbed? I'm surprised he even bothers to breath. May the Universe never produce such an arrogant and useless fuck ever again.

17. I'll enjoy watching him mentally rot...
...Who is this man, seriously?

He thinks people are actually going to PAY to hear him babble and do his best impression
of a constipated cowboy--as he rationalizes his untold number of heinous decisions?

What a frickin joke.

He'll have no one to bully around anymore. His lap dogs who once surrounded him will be
nowhere to be found. Without power, he won't be able to control everyone around him and
he won't be in his little protective bubble. That's what makes me laugh the most!

As pResident, he's been able to use security as an excuse---to shield himself from the
American people and how much they hate his guts. I love that he won't be able to walk
down the street without someone scowling at him or yelling, "Assclown!" or "murderer! or
"Knucklehead McSpazitron!" at him. The bubble boy will be without his bubble.

I predict that he's playing with a ball of yarn in a fetal position, within a few months.

He thinks he's going to give speeches. Bwhahahahahahahaah!

25. Still be in a bubble
He'll have the Secret Service around him physically so no one can get near him or say what he doesn't want to here. Mentally he will not be bored. His mind isn't active enough to get bored. He'll have his bike and his video games and will probably be happy having someone write a few speeches for him to read for big $$$ (and the Repugs will see to it he gets invited to speak at fundraisers) while he watches Jerry Springer. He has NO intellectual curiosity- these people don't get bored as long as they have their simple pleasures like his bike and booze.

I'm sure Laura leads a totally separate life. You barely see her anymore with him.
