This will probably be pushed to the Lounge. But The Boss is a known Democrat. And the Huge news is that it is with the E Street Band. Concert Tour to follow

I'm relatively new on DU . Don't even know what pushed to the lounge means...Checked tour dates a few days ago. Nothing closer to Albq. than L.A. !!! Damn... I'd go to Denver or Phoenix to see the E Street Band ( and have , in fact, to both---Denver 1985, on Bruce's birthday, and Phoenix 2003) And Bruce is exactly the kind of Democrat we need more of; old fashioned pro-union and working guy... And focused on the impact of policies on the average person's daily life, and how the system somehow ended up rigged against them. As a musician that's performed several of Bruce's songs over the years ( I got the Fever, My hometown, Fire, Thunder Road among others) I can really relate to what Michael Moore said about him: "He's who we all aspire to be" . One of my all time musical heroes, along with Marley, and Joe Strummer.

In every band I have been in. One of my all time favorite songs.
I can't wait for the album, but right now the single is free on itunes.

I play in a blues/soul band ( in N.M.) that has a Christian conservative bass player. Yeah, I don't understand it either. Although he stunned me recently by telling me he can't stand Bush and is " as scared as any liberal" about the trashing of habeus corpus etc.. Also a hell of a nice guy and very funky bass player... But I digress-------he's said he "hates" Springsteen (that's good; I don't think right wingers have earned the PRIVILEGE of appreciating Bruce.) So I brought "Savin' Up" from Clarence's first album for the guys to learn, and told him its by J. T. Bowen (true enough; he's the singer on the album--an old friend of Clarence apparently). He absolutely loves the song, and was so floored when I told him Bruce wrote it, that he's now anxious to hear some more of Bruce's soul stuff. (Still hates Born To Run etc. but like I said, in a way , I'm glad...) Planning on turning him on to The Fever soon. I guess progress comes in small steps...Maybe he'll understand the rest of it some day too . Nah-----probably not...Oh well p.s. Always enjoy communicating with other progressive, politically aware musicians. What do you play? I'm a singer/sax/harp player, although in this particular band I only sing a little---we have a lead vocalist who until this band, had done nothing but sing gospel in church all his life and he's incredible.
