Phone #'s of all the people in Craig's hometown fit on ONE PAGE of paper!
Reporter from Idaho just mentioned that on CNN. There are 157 people living in Larry Craig's hometown! The reporter said he interviewed everyone he could find in that little town, and they're ALL still supporting their hometown boy!

Geesh! I knew Idaho wasn't very populated, but 157 people??????

3. There's more than 157 people in my sub-division! I had to laugh at one
woman who said how thrilled and honored she was she Sen. Craig called her on her birthday! For God sake lady, he probably thinks of everybody in that little town as a relative!

12. I'm sorry for being so niave. I've lived in 6 different states in my life, but never in the
mid west. It just never occurred to me that there such small towns anywhere. I didn't mean to put them down at all. I was just surprised. Maybe because someone from such a small place became a US Senator.

8. The town's population is relavent how?
I've met plenty of ignorant foolish people in rural areas. I've met an equal number in populated areas. Stop promoting the stereotype that rural people are ignorant and foolish, and stop promoting the rural/urban dichotomy. We don't need to further split our population, rather we should be reaching out across these lines for issues of common agreement.

17. I'm sorry MadHound. I was just surprised to find out someone
from such a small town could become a US Senator. I didn't mean to disparage small towns. I wish I lived in a small town! I'm sick of the gang violence, and crime that has found it's way into much of suburbia! I'm just afraid to move to somewhere too small because I'm 64, and hubby is 65. He had a quad bypass 11 years ago, and I just feel he should be closer to hospitals and medical care than is usually available in very small town America.

16. Having grown up around small towns
They are usually proud of one of their own who has become a success. People in big cities become successful all the time, but it is relatively rare when someone from a small village becomes a success. It gives them hope that others from there could become successes too and perhaps that the community had something to do with it.

19. Yes, but Craig's a long-time senator, which means he must be very
rich, which means he must live amongst rich people.

20. Over in my home area
Paul Gillmor is a member of the U.S. house of Representatives. His family is rich. His father started a bank and became wealthy. They are from Old Fort, Ohio which is not much bigger than Senator Craig's hometown. The median income is close to the national average.

13. 157?! That's a metropolis.
We had 104 people when everyone was home in our little village, but that's down since 3 people moved to nursing homes and one young couple moved to the next village over this year.
