Has anyone seen Olbermann's numbers from last Thursday and Friday?
On Wednesday he was only down from O'Reilly by 6,000 viewers. It seems on Friday Keith said he had MORE viewers than O'Reilly the night before (Thursday.) These numbers are for the 24-54 demographic.

For a time there was buzz about how his NBC appearance might have helped his MSNBC slot.

But now I can't find anything.

Here's the stuff up through Wednesday. But nada for Thursday or Friday (unless I just know where to look on the site?)

2. Nothing I saw anyway.
But I did like the quote from the San Jose Mercury News calling him "the heat-seeking missile of MSNBC". Works for me. He's hotter than hot. I think they ought to start phasing him in on the Nightly News and moving Brian Williams outward. Brian Williams doesn't bring anything to the table other than - a somewhat younger version of all the staid, stuffy old guys. The whole evening newscast thing on the major networks needs rehab - a face lift, or an entire extreme makeover. The old ways just don't hold anymore, especially since fewer and fewer people are waiting til the dinner hour to get their news of the day. The whole mechanism has to be retooled. Bringing in an Olbermann-type show would really shake things up and start sweeping away the cobwebs.

3. I read no more prime time for him, his numbers there were rock bottom
but how I'd love to see him take Bill-o!

(Olbermann is a tad too snarky for me, and his second half hour sucks, except for worst person. I'd love a smart liberal doing the news but it won't happen. Rachel Maddow does a great job when she's on Keith. He should let her be guest host when he's gone. Problem is, that won't happen either. I've heard him say that stupid stuff he does brings in viewers too. If that's the price we have to pay to have him on the air, okay. The best thing about Olbermann is I so rarely say "NO! that's not the reason!" He is very well informed. I think he reads the Internets.)

4. Where did you read "no more prime time for him"?
Seems like a rather steep punishment to me. A show gets thrown onto the schedule at the last minute, no advertising, doesn't do that well in the ratings compared to the competition, and the network says "Well, we won't be doing THAT again"?

Hardly seems fair.

And if you don't like the second half hour of his show, I don't know why, because he's usually got a solid story or two there.

8. I don't think the network said "no more" just the article I read
I'm sure (I think) I read it on media bistro (I can't think where else) but I can't find it now in part because I can't find the archives there.

The article said it is not likely he will be on again because his ratings, for prime time, were so low.

7. I reported them in this thread
He trounced O' Reilly on Thursday - but remember Billo was off last week. This week + will tell the story.
