Been out of the country for 3 1/2 weeks with little internet access, and all I know is that

A) Gonzo is out
B) So is Rove
C) One GOP Sen. Larry Craig is also out for an incident in a airport men's room.

But you and I know that DU is all about the news between the major headlines. Anyone want to fill me in on the less explosive but equally important things that have happened recently in the political world?

1. Nothing, really, the river moves on and yet looks exactly the same.

The dead fish are still the only ones that always swim with the current.

2. Lots of resultant bathroom "humor"

Books coming out on Bush* and one on the Supreme Court that makes clear Souter was devastated by the 2000 decision. Cheney is apparently ready to go nuclear(or at least bomb to oblivion) Iran. (He realizes he is running out of time to initiate Armageddon and his trigger finger is itchy)

Quite a few GD fights..(as you might expect)

4. A new book is out, claims Rove was 100% against choosing Cheney

And that John Roberts was the idiot who first suggested Harriet Meyers, and that Meyers was terrified by the idea.

given the timing and far too flattering point of view towards Rove and the Bush* child.
