several dozen anti-war protesters were escorted by police from the spectators |
|
Minutes after the session opened, several dozen anti-war protesters were escorted by police from the spectators' gallery after standing silently as Majority Leader Harry Reid brought up the subject of Iraq. Three wore T-shirts of the group Iraq Veterans Against the War. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2007/09/04/iraq_tops_agenda_as_congress_returns/We want action and action now!

1. Reid should be removing the pro-war people. |
|
I wonder how many people would be left.

3. Why would they remove silent protesters? |
|
I could almost understand if they were being disruptive...But this I don't get.

is FAR more important than hearing from the little peoples. Can't have the public anger reach his pristine, paid for, ears, now can we?

5. I know they ban certain clothes in schools but what is happening here? |
|
So they were escorted out for just being there? I would love to hear more from the protesters on this one, I hope they find an avenue to talk because that is ridiculous.

Check it out in the Gungeon (threads were a few days back). Some DU folks leaned in favor of the suspension.

8. Yeah I saw that. Man when I was a kid we played cops and robbers |
|
cowboys and indians, man we had toy guns or sometimes sticks as guns, all the time. None of us have committed a crime using any weapons much less a gun, I don't see the connection. But hey, if the government is going to dumb us down as people, we need them to completely control us even as youngsters. If we put more effort into what causes people to commit crimes instead of only worrying about punishing them after its too late, we may get somewhere. I don't think a kid getting suspended for drawing a gun will actually be what stops all the innocent kids from getting killed on the streets everyday.
Oh the insanity!
