Please rethink your position DU -
I am speaking directly as I can to the moderators now -

I really think most groups will back the move now - independents and conservatives. This guy has to go. We all know it.

Link us up. I know it may be against your principles in a way - but there is a larger one at stake.

This guy has to go before he starts the third world war. Ain't that more important than tax policy?

We can absolutely destroy the world in less than an hour - we better talk.

Let us all talk together before we do that.

Joe

36. I didn't mean to be cryptic -and I was.
I appreciate that being pointed out - I really do.

That is how we learn.

I'll try harder in the future - kind of become a bad habbit of late - this cryptic thing. I am more used to be told I was too direct.

I did email the moderators in some detail what I meant, as I should have up front.

Sometimes you lost in the detail and assume others know that which really exists only in your own reality.

51. Well if you can tell the moderators what you mean...
...why can't you tell the rest of us?

I mean, sure, we'd all like to get rid of 43 -- in the sense of removing him from office, at least; preferably it would include a trial at the Hague for war crimes. So I'm not sure at all what you mean by suggesting that DU change "its" position (as if DU is a single entity with an official position on anything at all, apart from the board's rules, which even there we disagree at times).

57. I said you need to let other groups share their opinions.
Here. Now.

Mostly - cause I trust the people here to evalute them fairly. that I think this is a good place to do this.

I said some groups I know of - and if I said them again I'd just get deleted again.

They are just trying to run a website - I got it - but I think this so important.

If independent groups or conservative groups were of the same mind as us in this - don't you think we should be able to compare notes??

I do.

I took the critisisms here to heart and I tried to be quite direct. But it is not right to repeat what I said to them - they have to come to their own conclusion.

Just as we all do.

Just let all trains of thought concentrate on the central theme.

We don't exist in a vaccum - but if we do agree on the centrics of the thing- shouldn't we all be on the same page - with the same notes?? Not just DU - all of us.

There are many that think the same right now - we can't we all be on the same page?

53. ...
While many learned professors have abandoned hope of ever discovering the truth behind ambiguity, I for one feel that it is still a worthy cause for examination. At one stage or another, every man woman or child will be faced with the issue of ambiguity. While much has been written on its influence on contemporary living, it is important to remember that what goes up must come down. Crossing many cultural barriers it still draws remarks such as 'I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole' and 'i'd rather eat wasps' from those politicaly minded individuals living in the past, who are likely to form a major stronghold in the inevitable battle for hearts and minds. With the primary aim of demonstrating my considerable intellect I will now demonstrate the complexity of the many faceted issue that is ambiguity.

Social Factors

Society begins and ends with ambiguity. The immortal and indispensable phrase honesty is the best policy <1> saw clearly into the human heart. Difference among people, race, culture and society is essential on the survival of our world, however ambiguity helps to provide some sort of equilibrium in this world of ever changing, always yearning chaos.

Did I mention how lovely ambiguity is? If society has a favourite child, it is ambiguity.

Economic Factors

The preceding section may have shed some light on society but to really understand man you must know how he spends his money. We will primarily be focusing on the Maiden-Tuesday-Lending model, as is standard in this case.

It is apparent from the graph that the influence of ambiguity is strong. What is the secret to its strength? Seemingly the average wage cannot sustain this instability for long. Strong fluctuations in investor confidence have been seen over the past two financial years.

Political Factors

Much of the writings of historians display the conquests of the most powerful nations over less powerful ones. Politicians find it difficult to choose between what has become known in politics as - 'The two ways' - 0

Let us consider the words of that silver tongued orator, that most brilliant mind Noah Bootlegger 'A man must have his cake and eat it in order to justify his actions.' <2> This quotation leads me to suspect that he was not unaccustomed to ambiguity. It speaks volumes. If ambiguity be the food of politics, play on.
Where do we go from here? Only time will tell.

Conclusion

How much responsibility lies with ambiguity? We can say that ambiguity has, and will continue to be a major building block for the world in which we live. It enriches, brought up a generation and always chips in.

Let's finish with a thought from star Macaulay Malkovitch: 'I love ambiguity? Yes! Hurray for ambiguity!' <3>

<1> Traditional - possibly first said by King Arthor... but probably not.

<2> Bootlegger - Take It! - 1961 Viva Books

54. Ever study the Bloom Taxonomy??
Unfortunately similar. I personally do not like it.

Cause it teaches you - there is no abolute - it doesn't exist.

There is no truth that is not subjective in nature.

There is a truth - we just have to find it - that is what I think of Bloom.

55. Yes. I once wrote an essay about it.
An essay on bloom's taxonomy

'Brilliant', 'Quite Good', 'What?', these are just some of the comments made recently in the press regarding bloom's taxonomy. There are many factors which influenced the development of bloom's taxonomy. Given that its influence pervades our society, bloom's taxonomy is not given the credit if deserves for inspiring many of the worlds famous painters. It is estimated that that bloom's taxonomy is thought about eight times every day by those politicaly minded individuals living in the past, many of whom fail to comprehend the full scope of bloom's taxonomy. Hold onto your hats as we begin a journey into bloom's taxonomy.

Social Factors

While some scholars have claimed that there is no such thing as society, this is rubbish. Upon Peter Pinkleton-PishPosh's return to Britain he remarked 'class will refelect the inner hero' <1>, he globalised an issue which had remained buried in the hearts of our ancestors for centuries. No symbol is more potent than bloom's taxonomy in society today. It smells of success.

Special care must be taken when analysing such a delicate subject. On the other hand anyone that disagrees with me is an idiot. Clearly it promotes higher individualism and obeyence of instinct. As soon as a child meets bloom's taxonomy they are changed.

Economic Factors

Derived from 'oikonomikos,' which means skilled in household management, the word economics is synonymous with bloom's taxonomy. We shall examine the Maiden-Tuesday-Lending model. Taking special care to highlight the role of bloom's taxonomy within the vast framework which this provides.

There is no longer a need to argue the importance of bloom's taxonomy, it is clear to see that the results speak for themselves. The question which surfaces now is, how? In spite of the best efforts of The World Bank housing prices will eventually break free from the powerful influence of bloom's taxonomy, but not before we see a standardised commercial policy for all. What it all comes down to is money. Capitalists love bloom's taxonomy.

Political Factors

Machiavellian politics is rife. Are our leaders justified in pursuing and maintaining political power? Comparing the general view of politics held by the poor of the west with those of the east can be like comparing the vote of the man in the street with that of one more accustomed to bloom's taxonomy.

To quote award winning journalist Achilles B. Adger 'Taking a walk across hot coals will inevitably hurt your feet.' <2> What a fantastic quote. It is a well known 'secret' that what prompted many politicians to first strive for power was bloom's taxonomy.
While bloom's taxonomy may be a giant amongst men, is it a dwarf amongst policy? I hope not.

Conclusion

To conclude bloom's taxonomy deserves all of the attention it gets. It inspires, provides financial security and never hides.

Here with the final word is Hollywood's Keanu Hendrix: 'I demand bloom's taxonomy, nothing more nothing less.' <3>

<1> Flankton - The Complete History - 1999 Fantastico Publishing

<2> Adger - Politics Per Day - 2000 Jinder Publishing

<3> Go mad for bloom's taxonomy - Issue 132 - Kendeal Books

58. You know I have to defend the logic of Bloom tonight -
and I think it is so full of shit.

He argues that truth is nothing more than a product of the times - hell even in his formula it is subjective - little bastard.

Truth is not a formula - it is truth because it is ture.

I listen to that formula one more time and I am going to throw up.

Tell me - does that fomula even make sense - Knowledge to comprehension - to application -to analysis - to synthesis to evaluation. Does that really hold water??

Who elected him god - Truth exists cause it is true.

Maybe we don't see it- doesn't mean it is not there.

Just means we don't see it.

Guess you went to graduate school too.

Joe

Are you suggesting that DU somehow supports having Bush in office? I don't know if you noticed but DU is pretty anti Bush. His departure would cause many here to jump for joy. 60. So what is the position DU is to rethink?
Edited on Wed Sep-05-07 08:24 PM by mondo joe
And why the mods? They just carry out the rules set in place by the owner of the site.

63. Not all of them - I have talked to some privately -
It is not the rules - it is that they are running a business - and that business precludes bringing in other groups that may agree and contribute to the theme but conflict with a busniess goal.

That is ok - I understand and agree with capitalism - just not to the point it jeopardizes us as a country.

And it think that is where we are.

that is the point I diverge from this- I want to hear everybody on the subject - and I think we compare notes right now.

Cause there is a truth - and it emerges when we all compare notes - Dems, Independents and conservatives -

We agree on the central now - and we better unite.

That is all I am trying to say. Inarticulately I guess.

71. Not my project - it is our project.
It is that thing they teach you in ethics class in business school.

For me it is.

Stupid me - I believed it.

For more than 200 years our people bleed for us. We owe them. At least enough to do the right thing when that right thing was hitting us in the face.

You know - if you were a true capitalist - it could even be profitable I guess.

computer well enough to start your own board.

Looks like just blowing steam.

73. Welll - maybe I am just too old to do so I guess.
That and I don't like it.

I wonder - how many people you think here that good to do such a thing? That they can't do that - you think that makes them less??

Maybe I am doing as you say - blowing off steam - then again - maybe it is true.

It is a problem - where does truth start exactly??

week working on learning how to make a message board?

Awesome. :eyes:

78. Yeah. There are plenty of message board services.
If it's important to you, find one and use it.

If not, keep blowing steam.

80. Is that really what you think??
Or are you just saying that?

Blowing off steam - you think that is what this is about??

I can do that at a gym I guess.

You know the alternative is - I am saying this in a plea - because I love the United States - and I will not see us go down this way.

We deserve a better fate then this.

We earned that.

82. Why don't you do it and I'll hire you to do it.
You have no idea how far out on a limb I went - nor should you.

To start a message board - is that a solution??

What if I reinvent the alphabet too?? -

We do not have so much time anymore - to the extent I could I did.

And some of that was scary even to me - I went further then I ever thought I had in me.

Amazing what you can do when you believe in it.

I like to think - I dressed people down as well as my father did once - held back no sarcasim.

Went after throats. I watched my dad make a captain squerm once - I think I did him proud now.

Actually - I am kind of proud of it.

You know we all have a strengh and a weakness - smart people - they just know where that line is.

89. Why? I don't want the alphabet to do something different. Whatever you want DO to do,
just do yourself or hire someone to do it for you. DU doesn't own the internet or message board capacity.

When I start whining that the alphabet doesn't work the way I want it to, I'll reinvent it.

But you're not likely to do ANYTHING because it's easier to whine about it rather than actually DO something yourself.

No need to respond, thanks. It would just be more talk, no action.

90. Don't you get it - I don't need to reinvent the wheel either.
It is already real - we just need to use it in a different way.

You have no idea what I did - and I am not here to educate you on it.

64. i support impeachment as do many DUers
Edited on Wed Sep-05-07 08:30 PM by pitohui
i don't think it is DU that needs to rethink, i think it is congress that needs to get off the stick and impeach bush and cheney

we the people have v. little power these days, no use blaming DUers for the mess this country is in, if they'd listened to DU al gore would be president and 911 would have never happened just for starters

p.s. joe i am glad you decided not to leave the forum

65. It is so much more than that -
We are being given a chance, right now - as a society to retreive ourselves - to do the right thing that we all know has to happen. We are not the only ones to know this "right thing". I am telling you - point blank - we all know (most of us) - and we need to talk.

All of us - political dogma can go to hell right now - there is a truth that makes us americans - and that has to come out right now. That is who we are.

Mr Gore - he is the president - the very day we allowed the supreme court to tell us who was president - we lost.

I want my country back - and it starts here.

Joe
