Bill Clinton is The Man
Just watched him on Letterman.

How did we end up with the asswipe in office? Gawd.

Bill was so, um, presidential - something we haven't seen in a long, long time. Wow, I miss him.

2. Umm, sorry, but getting a BJ by an intern in the Oval Office isn't very presidential
Having it erupt into a major scandal isn't very presidential either. And frankly I wasn't a big fan of a lot of his policies either. He shipped our manufacturing sector overseas, then had the gaul to rip up our social safety net with welfare "reform" and took away opposing viewpoints with his '96 Telecom Act. No, not very presidential at all, and even less Democratic and liberal too. Was I better off under Clinton? Sure, but that's like asking whether I would rather be stretched on the rack slowly or quick. Either way, I'm still in for a world of hurt.

4. President Clinton didn't have a lot of choices after '94
The Republicans had a solid majority in both the House and the Senate and they forced a lot of that legislation--like welfare reform--down his throat.

5. Sorry, but Clinton actively supported both welfare reform and the '96 Telecom Act, among others.
Besides, if he didn't like these bills, he always had the power of the veto, yet refused to use it.

The man was simply another cold hearted corporatist, all dressed up in a kinder, gentler persona. Doesn't make what he did any less heinous. Doesn't make him any more presidential either.

13. not true, he DID veto two welfare reform bills
I clearly remember that. I did not remember though, that he campaigned on 'welfare reform'.

20. He may have vetoed a couple of bills,
But he certainly signed one stinker of a bill into law. And yes, he did actively campaign for its passage, promising great and grand things would follow from it becoming law. Yeah, right, so much for our social safety net.

6. "having it erupt into a major scandal" was most decidedly NOT WJC's doing.

7. No it wasn't
But damnit, he knew that he was a marked man, why the hell give your opponents that kind of ammunition? Where I come from that's called thinking with your little head, not your big one, and it gets you in trouble everytime. Certainly not the presidential thing to do, that's for sure.

8. I take it you don't particularly care for Bill Clinton...
You don't have to and I understand all the reasons why, but I would take him back in a heartbeat over the slimy bastard we have squatting in the WH right now. Bill Clinton was an angel of the fifth degree compared to the snake there now.

And only enough blood to run one at a time.

If I was married to Hillary, I'd probably be pretty vulnerable to a relatively attractive young lady wanting to pay me some lip service.

I do agree though that Clinton was no prize for the liberal/progressive community.

14. JFK didn't have his dalliances erupt into a major scandal that paralyzed the government
And frankly his policy positions, though I didn't agree with all of them, were a hell of a lot better and more liberal than Clinton's.

I don't care that the man had an affair, that's his business. But to get caught out, especially when he knew that the 'Pugs were gunning for him, is foolish and certainly un-presidential.

18. Because JFK lived in a different era.
Everybody knew JFK had "dalliances." Back then, nobody considered it the nation's business, unlike today.
