SHEE-it did I push a co-worker's Global Warming Button or what?
I mentioned Global Warming and this guy EXPLODED!

"BULL-FUCKING-SHIT!" and the like.

They have this guy convinced that there's LESS CO2 in the atmosphere than 10 years ago, and that if it gets any lower then there won't be enough for the trees and his crops to grow.

And you know who's peddling this BOUSHWA? His local Catholic Church.

We need to get rid of the tax break for churches. The good ones teach values, but the fundamentalists preach propaganda.

2. HELL no.
This guy nearly bit my head off. PHYSICALLY. He's a "True Believer" and trying to convert them can get you handed over to the inquisition.

4. Exactly when did Christian churches become right-wing shills?
Don't churches have enough to worry about in their own little world? (You know, things like the numerous child molesters in the clergy and their high-ranking enablers.) Why exactly do so many Christians blindly follow every right-wing wacko extremist wingnut "idea", seemingly without using their brains at all?

If "the lord is my shepherd", am I a sheep?

And where are the "left-wing" churches? You know, the ones that respect and follow Jesus's actual teachings about poverty, respect for others, etc.? Just about everything I hear from highly religious people smacks of anger, hate, intolerance, and fascism. Are these now understood to be "Christian values"?

I must say, I'm a pretty smart guy, but I continue to be absolutely mystified by the degree to which many Christian churches are becoming explicitly anti-American. Is this a Good Thing?

I imagine all this would be much clearer if we could fast-forward 200 years and read about it in a history book (if books and thinking are still allowed then). Plus, while we were in the far future we could read up on Bush's "greatest president ever" legacy!
