Olbermann on Impeachment
Olbermann on Impeachment
Submitted by davidswanson on Wed, 2007-09-05 01:12. Impeachment

UPDATE: Here's transcript: Bush just playing us with 'troop withdrawal'
Night is day, and death is life, and enraging the world against us is safety

Excerpt:

“I want to tell you this about the decision, about my decision about troop levels. Those decisions will be based on a calm assessment by our military commanders on the conditions on the ground, not a nervous reaction by Washington politicians to poll results in the media."

One must compliment Mr. Bush's writer. That, perhaps, was the mostly perfectly-crafted phrase of his presidency. For depraved indifference to democracy, for the craven projection of political motives onto those trying to save lives and save a nation, for a dismissal of the value of the polls and the importance of the media, for a summary of all he does not hold dear about this nation or its people nothing could top that.

And THIS:

Mr. Bush, our presence in Iraq must end. Even if it means your resignation. Even if it means your impeachment. Even if it means a different Republican to serve out your term. Even if it means a Democratic Congress and those true patriots among the Republicans standing up and denying you another penny for Iraq, other than for the safety and the safe conduct home of our troops.

This country cannot run the risk of what you can still do to this country in the next 500 days.

1. He said it. It is on HIS table, as it is on mine.
He also came out and used the word "Liar". Which we have known for years, but it is nice to hear it spoken to thousands...

3. He's the Only One Not "Playing" == Including Pelosi, Reid, Conyers, The Candidates...
...and the rest of the DC/Euphemedia Analstocracy. It takes the "sports guy" to reveal that it's all just a game to them.

Only Impeachment ... keeps it real.

And Keith is the only one willing to say so.

It is our ONLY moral, patriotic, (and legal, legislative, electoral, diplomatic...) option.

5. Calling Him A Liar Was The Most Important Thing Keith Said
I'm sooooooo tired of corporate mediatypes who say boooosh "mispoke" or that others are challenging his claims, as if since he said them, they must be golden and true. This is the same corporate media that couldn't call Bill Clinton a liar often enough when it came to defining what "is is" regarding a blow job. But when boooshie lies about this invasion, it's "misled" or "not clear"...rather than what it was intended to be from the outset...a LIE.

If there's one word I've love to see attached to boooosh for the rest of his rancid existance on this planet and that's the word LIAR...along with Incompetent and Failure. The tepid nature of the corporate media to face the right wing Mighty Wurlitzer has been their greatest failure and one they make worse as they continue to either echo or are used by the GOOP spin machine to do their dirty work.

Yes, Keith mentioned impeachment, but he also mentioned the obstruction Repugnicans are putting up against the will of the people and how the onus is really on them to stand up to boooosh and his buddies. If this war is to draw down or end in the next 500 days, if this regime is to be brought to any form of accountability, it has to be from within his own eroding party that this happens. Our options are to put pressure on these Repugnicans at every step...never let them think they can put off their own accountability any longer.

11. And what was it that Lil Bush said about making money?
What was that statement? To fill his "coifers" when he leaves office?

As if they are not spilling over now from the spoils of his war.
