Need help debunking something Nancy Pelosi supposedly said
I did a quick search on google and found some RW forums that had this quote attributed to Pelosi, but can't find an exact source behind it...

However, it is all over RW forums.
>>>
Nancy Pelosi has spoken again, now pushing her agenda to tax hardworking Americans’ investments in mutual funds, retirement funds and 401K’s. She explains how “this will help 12 million illegal immigrants in our country. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long ways to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as Americans.”
<<<

I can't believe she proposed taxing 401Ks to fund illegal immigrants, but I'm having trouble finding a good refutation.

Thanks

1. Nancy Pelosi said that she has a "12 inch shenis."

Go try to find something to refute that.

Until you refute it, it must be true.

4. The problem here is of course that if there is not enough evidence to prove it...
there may not be enough to disprove it.

If someone makes a claim, they should provide a source that is non-partisan to prove the claim. That would preferably be an actual video or audio recording of Speaker Pelosi, for example, saying that.

3. Check Snopes..
the quote can't be verified. The article it was taken from appears to be fake. Do you really think Nancy Pelosi would use the term "illegal immigrant"?

5. Here you go
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/pelosi.asp

it is listed as an urban legend. If you read the entire thing they are twisting her words. If you GOOGLE Nancy Pelosi tax mutual funds, there are about 141,000 things that come up and most of them seem to be a right wingers screaming about taxing the rich to give to illegal aliens.

8. Knuckledraggers throw that shit out all the time.
They make a ridiculous claim, offer no proof, and dare you to prove them wrong.

Is there any question in your mind that GWB lied about WMD in Iraq? Care to prove it....???

10. The problem is...
there is so much of this BS out there, that if we don't debunk it, it keeps traveling around the tubes that make up the internets and starts to gain a larger audience... sort of like that story about Bill Clinton being offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter twice, but turning it down, which Sean Hannity still drags out there despite the fact that the Bush appointed 9/11 Commission debunked it, and Sandy Berger before that debunked it as well.

11. With idiots, it does not matter. They repeat it endlessly, even when they know it's a lie.
Yes, debunk quickly, but then let it go.

This thread is a perfect example. That quote has been around long enough to show up on Snopes. Three of us found it on Snopes instantly, but the assholes keep repeating it anyway.

The truth is nothing more than an irritation to these people.

12. We should (correctly) start pointing out that, if Giuliani takes the White House
a "Help Wanted - American Citizens need not apply" sign should go up in front of the White House ...

17. Rudy was on video
saying that what New York really needed was the illegal immigrants for work force ... something to that effect, but he was all for the illegal immigrants ...

So, instead of a "Lincoln Bedroom", we would have the "opportunity" for a bunch of illegal immigrant workers doing "the jobs that nobody wants" in the White House ...

16. I didn't believe it
which is why I asked for help debunking it - I googled Pelosi, plus part of the quote and got a bunch of RW websites and forums that repeated it almost verbatim. I'm sure it's also made it onto Rush, Savage-Weiner, O'Reilly, Hannity and other places as well...
