Brownback could get every fundie vote in America and still not win.... |
|
... he would be one of the easiest to defeat in the general election.
As for the rest:
Giuliani has too many wives and too many skeletons in his closet.
Romney has changed positions too many times, and will not overcome his history as Mass Gov.
McCain has run out of money, lost his staff and media advisors, and generally rejected by Repubs.
Thompson is about to discover what it is like to be exposed as a candidate with no platform, a questionable career as a lobbyist, and someone with little presence on the stump.
The rest currently running are no threat at all.
Honestly, there is not a single Repub running that could beat any of the Dems running today in a head to head race, right now.
This truth has not been lost on the Repub Party Leaders.
That is why I believe the eventual Repub Nominee has not yet entered the race.

1. Bush had no real platform and very few actual qualifications, but he "won" |

The white-trash chicken-shit fundies couldn't masturbate without a manual. Fuck them all and their mega-church insanity.

I don't think he'll end up getting the nomination, and that's a good thing.
I think he's their best candidate in a general election.

6. His is perceived to be far less crazy than Brownback |
|
by most people. I make no claim to the legitimacy of that perception, but I think it's there.
Plus he's a governor which makes him a much better shot than a Senator like Brownback.
He's the strongest guy they got in the general. Fortunately he's nowhere near getting the nomination.

There's a slim chance that the ancient Egyptians didn't ride dinosaurs around.

8. I don't see how he's the strongest, by any measure. He's a big-government |
|
big spender, nanny stater, has some skeletons from his Gov days, and his entire campaign appears to be based on Biblical references, fetus protection, populist pandering and one-liners.

9. Here is the Mahr interview. He could take the right-leaning "independents" who went for Bush. |
