He was responsible for Don't Ask Don't Tell, NAFTA, media consolidation, and a host of other destructive conservative policies. He bombed Iraq (and at such a convenient time, right before the impeachment), and he compromised on core liberal values in exchange for "bipartisanship", while the Republicans never compromise on anything.
And I'm watching him on Larry King Live right now. AND I MISS THE HELL OUT OF HIM!

I still say that Bill was the best President in my lifetime despite his compromises. I think he did the best he could do and he is so intelligent. Nice post.

Great confession!
I watched Clinton on Larry King too and, even though I worked on both of his campaigns and very much supported both Clintons, I was disappointed at the way he compromised for what I still see as a one-way bipartisandship and I worry about the same thing with Hillary.

9. If he hadn't done all that compromising |

We wouldn't be in the mess we're in now.
Yeah, he's a smooth talker - and too smart to not know the consequences of his actions.
He believes in the business model of America, he's just better at surgar coating it so it'll go down like sweet syrup to the masses.
I used to like the Clintons, until I realized this country can't survive 8 more years of them.

I do like that he's a smart son of a bitch who can actually speak about issues and know what the hell he's talking about though, even if I don't always agree.

17. You are as ill informed as the republicans. Don't you remember |
|
the bombing was the request of the CIA. They said that they had bin laden cornered. But he got wind of the bombing and escaped. The republican congress blamed him for doing it on purpose. But it is on record that the CIA requested it. Later they asked for another bombing. They did have bin laden this time. But President Clinton, as he should do, went to the republican congress to request it, they refused, and bin laden escaped. Then 9/11 happened. So the republican congress can be added to some of the blame for 9/11. But no where..no how has this ever been mentioned.
And you have to also remember that there was an overwhelming republican majority in congress. Whether Bill Clinton signed any bill in to law or not, the republicans had the numbers to over ride his vetos.

Wasn't it so refreshing to see an intelligent and articulate leader?
I always felt that he was too middle of the road as President, but damn he is always impressive in an interview. :)
