So there's this bomb threat at the downtown Las Vegas bus terminal today.... |
|
My wife and I both work at the same job with the same hours and we are dependent upon the buses to get to and from work. Our normal time getting home is about an hour, and we have to transfer from one route to another one (which runs every 20 minutes on average) at McCarran Airport. We get to the airport tonight and end up having to wait nearly an hour for our transfer. Finally, two of the bus in question pull up simultaneously and the driver tells those of us who get on that, for the second time in four months, there was a bomb threat at the downtown bus terminal.
All routes that have connection points downtown had to stop at Cashman Field instead, and the whole service was in a shambles trying to get everything back on what passes for schedule for them. And this comes on the heels of a work day that was just pathetic for both of us in general. So, how was everyone else's day? :puke:

Too many times nobody gives a damn about anything that happens at bus terminals. And why? Because they assume that anyone who spends any time at a bus terminal is too poor to be worth being concerned about. It's really annoying--not only the assumption that everyone who rides a bus is poor and disenfranchised, but also that the poor and disenfranchised are simply not worth caring about.
