12. That's not a very nice thing to say.......
Hey, if every one of those 37++ gold stars moms started TALKING about why they know/feel.....whoo-hoo would things be different. I wish THEY WOULD!!!!! They've got a lotta 'right' to air their views/what's on their mind/who they support!

Thank goodness Cindy's 'out there' speaking her mind, sharing her viewpoints, and who she would vote for/not vote for. She's entitled to her WELL DESERVED opinion.

You call her 'pathetic' b/c her opinion of which candidate to support isn't the same as yours?

What does that make you?

I hope that none of mine or your or anyone else's children are ever casualties 'laid-to-rest' in cemetaries all over this nation, or hopelessly disfigured/maimed/injured from this god-forsaken, unjust 'war'.

There's only ONE GUY right now that's saying he will work to get us out of this mess (after which we, as a nation ~ a most powerful one at that ~, can begin to focus on the global condiitons that we so urgently need to address).

That person is DENNIS KUCINICH.

32. Alas, she squandered her power to effect change
with dubious alliances, speaking out on too many unrelated issues and meaningless spats with people like Katha Pollitt. Not to mention her uber bizarre diatribe about the Democratic Party being the party of slavery and her denunciation of the income tax.

35. "Meaningless"? Try "Unhinged"
"The Nation just joins a long line of orgs, entities and persons who supported me while I challenged Bush and the Rethugs, but <...> are not just abandoning me but trying to undermine me and my candidacy." - Sheehan in a letter to the Nation, 8/29/07

Because Katha Pollitt dared to suggest she had might be more effective continuing as a protester, than running - and losing - showing that the far-left fringe could indeed be ignored.

81. Tell it like it is
She squandered the dignity she had as a mother of a fallen soldier to get political about other issues, and she wasn't very good at it.

On the other hand, who are we to judge? Just because I don't think she's effective anymore, doesn't mean I can even begin to understand what goes on in her mind.

17. (aside) Richardson advocates an immediate withdrawal, as well.
I see one aside, in Ms. Sheehan's speech, in support of Kucinich, yet this seems more a slam against Conyers, Pelosi and other Democrats - as well as the (R) administration, which actually *runs this war*.

I'm not in Rep. Pelosi's district, yet, as a Californian, I support her re-election.

:kick:

Just my two cents.

I like Dennis and I'll probably vote for him in my late and meaningless primary just to endorse some of the things he's saying, but the delusion that he stands a chance of winning the democratic nomination never ceases to amaze me. He will NEVER get more than 5% of the vote. As for Sheehan supporting him, as someone said, it hurts far more than it helps.

So clearly, I don't think he's a nutcase.

And if/when someone calls him or any candidate of my choice a nutcase, I'd obviously disagree, but I wouldn't say that person has "an ugly soul."

The fact that you referred to another person that way makes you a fanatic -- simply supporting Dennis doesn't, just to be clear.

My side:

*Strongly oppose the Occupation of Iraq, support immediate withdrawal.

*Strongly oppose the failed Pre-emptive WAR approach to terror. Support the successful International Law Enforcement model.

*Strongly oppose forcing the "Oil Law" benchmark on the Iraqi people

*Strongly oppose increasing the budget of the Pentagon/MIC

*Strongly support Single Payer Universal HealthCare

*Strongly oppose BBV

*Strongly support Paper Ballots publicly hand counted at the Precinct

*Strongly support Organized Labor.

*Strongly oppose NAFTA, WTO, IMF. Support withdrawing from these treaties.

*Oppose increasing H1B Visas

*Strongly support the uSA joining the ICC and International Land Mine ban.

*Strongly support the immediate IMPEACHMENT of the Bush* administration.

Dennis Kucinich is THE ONLY candidate who has a CLEAR & CONSISTENT position on these issues.
So, you see, we are not on the "same side" at all.

47. But he's a dem...
and is therefore responsible for slavery and starting all the wars of the 20th century.

By "endorse" does she mean "occupy his office"?

Sid

Nothing against Dennis, but here she goes again, flailing madly in the wind changing her positions and previous statements.

I guess we are just as confused as Ms. Sheehan is with her on-again-off-again love affair with the Democratic party.

83. Me too
Dennis is a cool guy and I'm glad to see him go from 1% to 5%. Its important that his ideas are heard (even if I don't agree with them all) and moving up the ranks gives him a better chance of being listened to. Kucinich supports Democrats and probably Nancy Pelosi.

Cindy is a waste and counterproductive. I'm sorry about her losing her son but she should go soak her head.

54. Makes sense. Not only is he anti-war...
he's also (as far as I know) the only candidate to:

- call for an END to the drug war
- insist on SINGLE PAYER (not for PROFIT) healthcare
- OPPOSE the IRAQ OIL LAW

Can't get excited about any of the other candidates.

102. This government trys to make all dissenters suffer. Most people afraid to open their mouths in publ
I don't even know if she is any brighter than Pelosi but she certainly seems to have a lot more courage. Criticize her if you must but she is very brave to allow herself to be a target of this administration so that she might speak her mind against their injustices. Brave citizen speaking the truth...Bravo Cindy.
