Has The Squadron Commander In the "Loose Nukes" Case Been Identified?
Edited on Thu Sep-06-07 06:05 AM by Syrinx
I've read that the "squadron commander" in charge of the people responsible for the airborne nukes has been "relieved" of his duty. Have we heard his identity yet?

The Air Force continued handing out disciplinary actions in response to the six nuclear warheads mistakenly flown on a B-52 Stratofortress bomber from Minot Air Force Base, N.D., to Barksdale Air Force Base, La., on Aug. 30. The squadron commander in charge of Minot’s munitions crews was relieved of all duties pending the investigation.

I'm curious about this, understandably, I think. I'm wondering if this gentleman is a part of the growing, and apparently increasingly dominant, faction of the United States military, especially the Air Force, that is aligned with a dangerous fundamentalist Christian movement that believes that they are destined to ignite "Armageddon," as highlighted by the apparently sane and worried Republican Mikey Weinstein.

What I found at the Air Force Academy was nothing short of something that could destroy the republic. An essentially evangelical, fundamentalist, Christian perspective was being imposed on those that were not evangelical fundamentalist Christians, in complete and total disregard of the First Amendment and the Bill of Rights, where the separation of church and state clearly resides.

Maybe this was just all a mistake. But that sounds a little convenient, especially considering my increasingly conspiratorial and paranoid mindset of recent months. ;)

I want to know who this commander is, and what his connections to these radical Christian groups, and to the neo-cons, if any, really are. I think it may be really important.

This is probably nonsense, since apparently I'm just a conspiracy theorist, rather than an American citizen that cares about our country and about our world.

But, until recently, I thought it was a comedy satire. Not a documentary.

3. We certainly deserve to have MUCH more information about
this incident. I agree with you that any connection between the guilty parties and the air force dominionists needs to be exposed.

5. I think there's likely something more to it
I can't prove it. But I feel pretty sure.

6. There's definitely something more to this.
The question is: Which of the many odious Bushie Items is it?

Psyop?

Moving nukes into place for Iran?

Christian Dominionist Bushies in the USAF exerting their newfound power?

Who knows? Like Nazi Germnany we will have to wait until Imperial Amerika is destroyed (asnd we will not live to see that day, I think) and the Gestapo Records (what Dick Cheney-Eichmann idn't shred already, that is) to be unearthed and exposed.

And as I have said before, we could be looking at an Imperial Rome situation as much as a Nazi Germany one, one in which Hitler/Caesers/Bushies DO rule for hundreds of years andthe Republic which birthed their evils long gone to the dust of history.

18. They probably relieved the one who leaked the info.
Or no one at all and if thats the case, when the heats is turned up on them about it, they will have to let one of their guys go. You know with some kind of financial bonus!

7. Hard to imagine that as being just an inadvertant oversight
One might forget one lugnut when changing a flat tire but to leave Nuclear Weapons on an air force craft and fly them part way across country? Me thinks not. And I'll join you in your conspiracy theory. Maybe this was a test run by a lunatic to see what they could get away with. And to think, the true patriots amongst us want to destroy the country after they finish posting on "free" republic.

8. It _CANNOT_ Be A Mistake!!
.
The command and control of special weapons (euphemism for nuclear weapons) are so stringent that one simply cannot have an 'oppsy' moment (no do-over allowed). Throughout a SW's life there exist a 'two person' rule, two people must exercise positive physical control over the weapon.

So why are we being informed of this incident? A second shoe will soon be dropped.

Can we get all SW out of the hands of shrub and Co.?
.

12. what happens in an 'oopsie' moment.
I was with a group at a depot where there was a special weapon present. One of the group who wasn't familiar with the protocols inadvertently approached too close to the device without a security team member present. I can assure you he won't make the same mistake again. The security team was very pissed and it initiated protocols that shut down the whole show until a team could examine it and determined that it hadn't been tampered with.

I made a similar mistake once and wound up looking down the muzzle of a locked and loaded M-60 machine gun. Those security people take their jobs very seriously. There are no 'mistakes' in that business.

9. Maybe China knows
I saw an article which talked about the military in China hacking into the American DOD just a little while ago. I wonder what they learned by doing that Follow-on question - why can't an American hack into those same computers and get the information that China got? I know it would be treason. Well, what do we call it when a foreign military does it?

13. I'm sure the weapons were locked
I worked with nukes for more than three years. Even if you have the weapons there is a Permissive Action Link that prevents them from being detonated without the proper code.
