I wish the main stream media would stop referring to L'affaire Craig as a "gay sex sting"...IMHO, it was a public restroom sex sting aimed at stopping aberrant behavior that resulted in citizen complaints...If there were complaints about men peeking into women's dressing rooms or restrooms I would feel the same way...


This brouhaha has everything to do with Mr. Craig's aberrant behavior and nothing to do with his orientation and attempts to make it about the latter and not the former divert attention from Mr. Craig's wrongdoing...

was the issue. But, I'm afraid the media is never going to see the big picture on this. Maybe, if there had been sexual behavior, male entrance into women's rooms, or inappropriate activity of any kind detected in the women's rooms...

However, as a previous poster indicated, the fact that this particular restroom was being promoted on some websites as a high prospect for those seeking gay sex will make it impossible for most MSM to see beyond this aspect. While Craig's case was one of peeping, apparently others of the 40 some that came before him, did involve overt solicitation for oral sex--at least as far as has been reported. :shrug:

I am sorry that this episode is feeding some nasty stereotypes on the part of some segments of the public. But, unfortunately behavior by a minority of individuals does drive that perception sometimes...
