I'm thinking Matt Damon. Or Chris Cooper.

Just hypothetically. Not that that they have political jobs experience, but Cooper understands personal pain and life with a special needs child.

126. Hi, Virginia Dare. Yes -- Karen Black has one of the most uneven
careers out there. Very unpredictable.

Her high school counselor told her she should absolutely not consider an acting career.

Black commands the screen in her big moment in Altman's NASHVILLE. One of the most forceful screen entrances of all time.

Boxleitner is a repub? Aw, shit. Did he not actually READ the Babylon 5 scripts he played when Sheridan fought against the facists in EarthGov? Does he not recognize the similarities between Night Watch and Homeland Security?

It's bad enough that Jerry Doyle (Garibaldi) is one (he ran for congress a few years ago as an R but lost), but not Boxleitner, too.

I think I'm going to cry now. I am so bummed.

121. Apparently the stories that JMS wrote didn't really stick in Boxleitner's brain.
I knew about Doyle, being a (R). And so is Tracy Scoggins. you know, the "other" commanding officer of Babylon 5. No, not Sinclair. The throwaway one.
She even had to make a point of mentioning that she "only watches Fox News" during the single DVD commentary she did in the Season 5 set. :eyes:

Apparently, the Bush administration loves the show, and told Boxleitner so once. They're probably using the Clark administration as a how-to manual.

PS, I'm still going strong with over two years as a vegetarian. Sometimes it is difficult for me to plan my meals when I'm travelling to see family, but I have more energy than when I ate meat.

104. Get OUT! Really? When I read about his child's cerebral palsey
it broke my heart. My oldest has autism. The emotional strain is unbelieveable, and my understanding is that they lost him. So very sad.

He's a wonderful actor. I've admired his since Lonesome Dove. And he is always around other fabulous actors.

112. He was 2 years ahead of me, but he sat next to me
in Geometry his senior year. And wrote a sweet nothing in my year book. (sigh) I'm pretty certain he would not remember me now.

He told me then he was going to be a famous actor.

Yes, his personal struggles must be very hard. I love his work. The WSJ wrote a piece about him several months ago which said "His face could stop a truck...." which I didn't think was very nice. But I remember him when he was 17.....

94. Steve Buscemi...
He's a Dem, has contributed to Dem candidates, and is a former NYFD firefighter.
The day after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Buscemi went to his old firehouse to volunteer for recovery work at Ground Zero. That week, he worked 12 hour shifts digging through the rubble, while refusing to do interviews or have his picture taken.

Any member of the Creative Coalition cofounded by the late Christopher Reeve (Susan Sarandon would be another great one. NOT ron silver, though - amazing he is also a cofounder, now spitting on Reeve's grave), Tim Robbins, Ed Begley Junior, Ben Affleck, Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen. Or Leonardo DiCaprio!
