WA POST: BUSH Tells Biographer: 'I Do Tears' = Is Bush Mentally Stable?
Edited on Thu Sep-06-07 10:21 AM by L. Coyote
What would a psychiatrist conclude?

"I've got God's shoulder to cry on. And I cry a lot. I do a lot of crying in this job...."

Book Tells Biographer: 'I Do Tears'

WASHINGTON -- Under that famously self-confident exterior is a president who weeps -- a lot.

President Bush told the author of a new book on his presidency that "I try not to wear my worries on my sleeve" or show anything less than steadfastness in public, especially in a time of war.

"I fully understand that the enemy watches me, the Iraqis are watching me, the troops watch me, and the people watch me," he said. Yet, he said, "I do tears."

"I've got God's shoulder to cry on. And I cry a lot. I do a lot of crying in this job. I'll bet I've shed more tears than you can count, as president. I'll shed some tomorrow."

Bush granted journalist Robert Draper several extended interviews in late 2006 and early 2007, as well as unusual access to his aides, for the book "Dead Certain: The Presidency of George W. Bush," which went on sale Tuesday.

2. In no way do I believe that Bush has ever shed tears for
someone else. Unless he is completely nuts I think he may cry when he realizes that he is not the king.

7. NO. My question is, "How would a psychiatrist react to the statement?"

11. I think some psychiatrists and psychologists have tried
But I believe most of them won't feel free to offer a true anlysis until Herr Bush is out of office -- lest they want to end up on the "no-fly" list.

"I've got God's shoulder to cry on."

Sort of speaks for itself, doesn't it?

13. And also: person who gives a damn about others.
On second thought, he doesn't pull that impression off very well.

15. I don't know about Shrub, but it seems to be a Pub thing! Yesterday
Boehner was cying on the House floor when he was announcing that one of the Pub house members from Ohio had died overnight. I've seen quite a few Pubs tearing on the floor of both the Hosue & the Senate over the last year.

16. Sociopaths don't cry
They may fake crying in order to get something or to fool someone. But there is no real anguish behind the expression. It's all for external consumption.

I heard once that sociopaths sometimes mimic people in real pain and sometimes even practice in the mirror to make sure they get it right.
