1. only Dennis and Mike
They address it for what it is, a give away of Iraq's natural resource to Western Oil Companies.

2. Dead silence
from the "electables"

I hate having no anti-war and profiteering candidates to vote for in the "Top Tier"

5. I voted for Dean in the primaries of 2004
and was told my choice "was not good enough." Apparently they decided to do this in advance this time.

8. I'm not listening to same old lines from the same old people
anymore. I've been changed forever and will not vote for imperialism and the death of people and the soul that follows anymore. I WILL vote for Kucinich and WILL NOT vote for any who adhere to the Bush doctrine.

6. This is a GIANT issue not to discuss it. This is a significant part of
imperialism and corporatism and enslaving countries to our will. According to Confessions of Economic Hitman this is the top reason why we are in Iraq and why we have dozens of counrtries already in our pockets.

7. Of course it is the top reason why we're there.
That's why it saddens and disgusts me that so many just turn away from the issue entirely. And keep expecting the rest of us to be all happy and smiley as they cheerlead for the candidates who (probably) won't do jack shit to stop it.

*sigh*

But :kick: for more responses just the same.

our top-tier candidates apparently being on-board with stealing Iraq's oil.

Guess not.

11. Welcome to reality
"If I'm not getting screwed, I don't care"

That your be 90-95% of America

"I don't care if I'm getting screwed- My president is telling me different!"

That would be 29-35% of America

"I'm willing to do what it takes to fix the problem!"

5%

...We are in SO much trouble...

makes me really unable to comprehend why people are so excited.

I guess having some good SCOTUS appointments balances the scales against murder for profit.

17. Remember Condi threatening the Kurds over their oil law?
It turned out as well as everything else they did in Iraq. The Kurds passed their own oil law.

Iraqi Kurds approve regional oil law while national version still stalled

IRBIL, Iraq – Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdish government approved a regional oil law on Tuesday, paving the way for foreign investment in their northern oil and gas fields even as similar U.S.-backed legislation for the entire country remained stalled.

BBC 6 October, 2006

Rice meets Iraqi Kurdish leaders
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has held talks with leaders in the Kurdish area of northern Iraq.

In Baghdad on Thursday, Ms Rice said that oil had to be a resource for the Iraqi people as a whole, "not one that would help to make the country less unified".

She warned Iraqi leaders they must act quickly to settle their differences to help tackle soaring sectarian violence.

Kurdish independence, especially if it meant taking control of the northern oil, is something the Americans would not support, our correspondent says.

19. Yes, the silence from the party that supposedly represents us is unsettling.
Keeps bringing to mind the saying, "new boss, same as the old boss."
