5. We get voter receipts.
The ballot has a serial number and I suppose that we individual citizens could demand to see that our vote was counted, but I've never tried.

7. Reciepts for votes are illegal. Any evidence of your vote must remain
in the polling place. The reason is that a reciept retained by the voter could be used as proof of voting for a particular candidate which could lead to purchasing votes. A party hack could hang out near a polling place and offer $10 for every reciept with his candidate's name on it.

Paper ballots, yes! Even a VVPAT, but reciepts are illegal.

10. No one can demand to see one because it is illegal to issue one.
It is illegal to print a reciept. Federal law. All evidence of your vote, i.e. paper ballot, voter verified paper audit trail etc, must remain inside the polling place.
