Missing woman found alive after two weeks
76 years old. In the mountains, no less.

A 76-year-old Sandy woman missing in the Wallowa Mountains since late August was found alive Thursday.

Searchers had looked "everywhere (they) can possibly think of" for Doris Anderson, who was reported missing by her husband while on a bow hunting expedition.

On Thursday, Baker County officials said she was found in a steep canyon as crews tried to get her out of the area to the hospital. She had a hip injury, but was alert deputies said.

According to family members who had all but given up hope, they had planned a memorial service for her next weekend. Harold and their two daughters quickly returned to Boise, where she was expected to be hospitalized.

4. Late August in the Wallowas is a fine time of the year. She was probably
just kicking back at streamside and enjoying the beauty.

(not really, ok, but there are worse places to get stuck)

7. Please stay out of the wilderness
unless you are with a group of people. The Wallowas are not child's play.

9. Well, the wildlife can start worrying again
She'll probably be able to shoot arrows into some of them by next season.
