Sen. Larry Craig's Daughter Also Runs Afoul of Law
WASHINGTON — The public spotlight on Idaho Sen. Larry Craig, which by default also shined on his family this past week, might mean an arrest in the near future for one of Craig's daughters.

Following a week of turmoil over a lewd conduct-related arrest, Craig made headlines Saturday announcing his likely resignation. On Tuesday, his daughter, Shae Howell, and son, Michael Craig, appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" to defend their father.

But a reader of the news Web site Boise Guardian discovered after watching the TV show that Howell also had a local warrant for arrest with a $500 bond. The warrant was issued in April because Howell failed to appear at a court hearing related to 2006 charges of unlawful entry and malicious injury to property, both misdemeanor charges.

Idaho officials said Thursday the warrant is active and has not been served, meaning Howell has not been arrested.

Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said Howell was charged in connection to a June 19, 2006, "domestic related" incident in which she entered a home without permission. Hightower, who spoke by telephone, said she had reviewed the police report but could not provide the report or any further details under department policy.

According to court papers, Howell destroyed photographs.

1. Don't you just love those "law-and-order" Republicans.
That was really stupid on Howell's part. All of it.

6. fox cares naught for accuracy....
it was NOT a lewd conduct arrest....the arrest was for disorderly conduct and interference with privacy. he pled to DOC and the privacy charge was dropped.

there was no lewd conduct.....but asking FOX to get it right is like.....hell, I don't know.

17. Many an old arrest warrent can be overlooked for years.
I once got an arrest notice in the mail for a missed traffic court date that was three years old. Only I had rescheduled the date three years earlier and the city screwed up the reschedule date and when I'd showed up, the judge had told me "forget about it" and sent me home. Then three years later I get a notice saying they planned to arrest me for skipping a court date! What's worse, the original judge had retired and I had very little paperwork (just barely enough) to clear it up.

Cops and courts screw up paperwork all the time. That's why there's a requirement for speedy trials in Bill of Rights... back when we had a Bill of Rights

12. Give the kid a break - I did way worse as a kid.
I don't like judging kids by their parents. And these incidents aren't enough to give anyone any insight into what kind of kids they really are.

14. heh.... you should meet my friends, then. :)
I'm just saying, context matters. My friends are in our thirties, and I could easily imagine a story that could include something like this given the right details and the right context. Hell I've broken into my friend's house more than once.

troubles are the result of a divorce fight. People do this shit every day in a divorce. Hell, they do worse. And they're republicans and democrats. And I understand that she's the step-daughter of a republican hypocrite, but she's sticking up for the man that raised her and her brother.

She not the one who called Clinton a nasty, naughty boy. (Although be real folks, he was. It was just not the public's business.)

edit: To point out that a misdemeanor offense can be anything. Think there are people here who've been convicted of one? Think that there are people here that SHOULD have been convicted of one (or maybe worse) if they'd been caught at whatever shennanigans they had been up to?

that sort of reckless driving and drug abuse? Nothing against Al, but the kid fucked up. EG. it's got nothing to do with Al, and you can't judge Al by the kid's screw up.
