the pre 9-11 events are underway - we've had a "major" terrorist plot disrupted, bush is warning us of "footsteps" following behind us, the 4th annual "Makin' Progress" parade is scheduled for next week in Congress, and we have a special greeting from Bin-Laden.

only two things left:

1. an actual terror attack in a major European/US city
2. Plastic sheeting/duct tape sales at your local home improvement store

push back to this from Congress?

republics want any talk of a cutback/withdrawal in Iraq taken off the table

dems are caving.....again

there's some talk of "reviewing" patriot Act/Fisa etc. but I don't expect anything significant to happen in the way of curbing it's powers or making the bushies accountable - most likely the republics will jump out from behind bathroom doors shouting booga-booga and the dems will sign off on whatever the bushies want

Might as well make it a national holiday with a BBQ in a chem suit and fireworks with actual tiny mushroom clouds. Everybody bring some duct tape and their tiny carry on bottles of shampoo and the kids can run around with anthrax sparklers(tm) (made in china).

The grand finale will be a miniature steel tower melting and collapsing when lit with jet fuel (might need to work on how to make this actually happen).
