Thank goodness for the surge!
7 more troops killed in Iraq yesterday: 4 in "safe" Anbar ProvinceYou know, Anbar, where the little turd just stopped in, and glowing praised all the "progress" there. 3 others were killed in Nineveh Province. That's on top of the 8 killed Wednesday.

To date, 3750 U.S. troops have died in Iraq- and a million or so Iraqis. 18 troops have died in this first week of September.

Thank goodness for the surge!

Seven U.S. troops have been killed in Iraq, including four in the western province of Anbar, the U.S. military said on Friday.

In a statement, the military said four Marines were killed in the vast desert region on Thursday while conducting combat operations. It gave no further details.

U.S. President George W. Bush visited Anbar on Monday and hailed improved security in the province, previously the most dangerous region in Iraq for American soldiers.

Separately, the military said three soldiers were killed in northern Iraq on Thursday when an explosion hit their vehicle

1. I guess the insurgents are back from their summer break,

It being too hot to go around and set up IEDs and all in August.

Parliament must be back in session too, so there are points to be made by Shia and Sunni and Kurd. Points made by killing each other and any US soldiers that happen along.

2. If it's so damn wonderful over there, why don't we vote to install
King George in the new American palace for the next 500 days? He could go out on his mountain bike as often as he wants.
