Just out of curiosity
Sorry to post about that Circuit City thing again but...

If Mr. Righi had posted his story on a conservative website rather than a liberal one, would DUers show the same indignation?

Better yet, if Jim Robinson (of FreeRepublic fame) or Tom Delay or Rush Limbaugh had done the exact same thing as Mr. Righi, how many of us would rush to his defense? And how many would say it serves him right for being a dick (and a conservative dick at that)?

6. I didn't say the cop acted properly during the arrest.
But when a security guard asks you to stop, and you flatly and openly refuse, you can expect trouble.

It happened. What a shock.

7. You mean that terrible violation of human rights involved of showing the receipt?
Oh, yeah. Welcome to the concentration camp.

9. Yeah, I read.
If he hadn't had a bug up his ass about the receipt, this would be a non-issue. He was looking for trouble. He even said so. And he got it. whoopee!

But here, we're all up in arms because those fascist Circuit City employees and their minions, the Police dept, are expanding their terror. Soon they'll make us wear armbands and inject microchips into our necks.

10. And none of this happens if Mr. I Hate the Man simply shows him the receipt.
Everything that happened after that was a direct result of his defiance.

Was the cop wrong? Sure. No excuses. None of it had to happen...

12. He was looking for trouble and he got it
He knew they do this at Circuit City and that is their store policy. If he truly disagreed with it, he wouldn't have shopped there.

The cop...bit of a dickish reaction, but I am sure his attitude did't help in the least.
