Back from Germany...man do they know how to build cars & roads

This is a picture I took while driving a VW Passat 2.0 TDi near Memmingen in southern Germany.

As you can see, I'm doing a little over 100 mph at 3000 RPM and utilizing 4.6 liters/100km. That equates to approximately 50 miles per gallon.

We went for a hike around the little town of Pfronten. These things were all over the place. Sometimes, Mother Nature is not subtle when she says "DANGER"

i did 100 mph in indiana in a 72' oldmobile delta 88.
maybe it's different when you drive a couch. didn't seem that exciting.

6. I remember driving a military van about 100 mph on the Autobahn and

having a Porsche come out of nowhere and zoom right past me. I loved the Autobahn! Great picture and, yeah, their cars and roads are darn good.

We spend our money on the military, they waste theirs on, roads, good beer and a national health care system. We be too smart for that.

8. you forgot vacations, in europe they take actual vacations. Most of our

people can't get enough time off to take vacations. At least I remember vacations, about 20 or so years ago.

9. Yeah, and the doors, too

I couldn't get over the doors. They're taller than ours, but every one I looked at, including in fairly cheap apartments, was beautifully hung and swung and opened and closed perfectly.

A nation that pays that careful attention to its doors is a nation that, um ... pays careful attention to things.
