Bin Laden seems to like to help the Bush and the Republicans
Edited on Fri Sep-07-07 11:35 AM by book_worm
9/11/01 is a terrible terrorist act, but it had the effect of turning a selected elected president with a mediocre 55% approval rating (lower than most presidents at that time in their presidency) into one who has a 90% plus approval rating.

9/9/02--Bin Laden turns up in a video which turns the mid-term campaign from a debate about the recession into a debate about national security--GOP picks up seats in congress.

10/29/04--Bin Laden, just days before the election, issues a video. According to the London Daily Telegram, Bush picks up six percentage points on John Kerry.

A new tape in May of 2006 surfaces but this time it's not directly before the election and Dems win back control of congress as the situation in Iraq is deteriorating.

9/07--A new Bin-Laden tape is supposed to surface next week on the anniversary of 9/11, and, coincidentally(?) as the September assessment of the "Surge" is to be released. We all know how the Bush administration tries to tie Iraq in with 9/11, despite the fact that no Iraqi's were involved, so he will use this to bolster his case.

Bottom line is Bin Laden wants the US to stay in Iraq because it has helped him build up his organization and it has made the US the mortal enemy of many in the Islamic world. Furthermore, he wants the US bogged down in Iraq so that we won't go after him in Afghanistan.

Bin Laden wants nothing more than to see Bush's war on Iraq continue.

1. Why not? The Bin Ladins invested in Georgie's first business.
They're old family friends.

2. Maybe I'm wrong
but I see another bin Laden tape as just a reminder to people that HE'S STILL OUT THERE! BushCo hasn't caught him and are spinning their wheels in the sand in Iraq.

Bin Laden may have run out his usefulness to the GOP.

3. You would think that would have been the case in even 2004
and why didn't the Dems make a case out of that? But half the people of this country believe that Iraq was involved in 9/11 and Bush keeps pushing that lie.

9. A lot has happened in 3 years
Support for the war is unraveling on daily basis. More tropps are dying, no end in sight, frustration is rising and people just don't want more of the same.

People are wising up to this administration, though it's taken years to long to suit me. If the Democrats can somehow pull together a strong, articulate platform for 08 we will do quite well. We shall see.

7. This time nothing short of another 9-11 could help the GOP out, however, Bush is allowing
leaks out about the up and coming Iran future attacks, so, why wouldn't Bushco choose the most appropriate time to start the 3-day bombing campaign on Iran to benefit the GOP?

10. Isn't it to BinLaden's advantage to keeping us in Iraq ...
creating more hatred for Americans and more recruits for him? Heck, as long as we're bogged down in an un-winnable civil war ... we're not looking for him. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are reestablishing themselves while we chase our tails.

11. The Mystery of Osama bin Laden
Is he live or is he Memorex at this point? Either way he is a mystery made even more mysterious by his relationship with the Bushes and both, really, are enemies of the American people at this point but Osama bin Laden more an enemy than they are.

Dead or alive he has a following that is not interested in the Bush agenda or the world oligarchy their agenda serves. The followers of Osama bin Laden want to destroy the Bushes and what they represent and will destroy all of us if given the opportunity.

The danger for all of us is the Bushes believing that the opportunity they may give bin Laden and/or his followers fits into their agenda. Which is what many believe occurred on 9/11 - that it was plot by two enemies. Not just one.

Or worse, as some believe, they may just set fire to the Reichstag again and blame it on Memorex who may have been Memorex on 9/11.

What say you, Madame Speaker? How many more Americans will have to be sacrificed before you take impeachment off the table? How many lies, how many treasonous acts by this president and his administration will it take for you to finally represent the interests of the American people instead of your own interests and the interests a party you claim to represent but in reality do not?
