Conservative group: Craig's bathroom arrest is effectively declaration of 'war on the West'
Source: Raw Story

A conservative group has come to Sen. Larry Craig's defense, saying his arrest in an airport restroom amid allegations he tried to solicit sex was an example of overzealous police profiling and entrapment.

The American Land Rights Association, a longtime supporter of the Idaho Republican, is calling for a boycott of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, where Craig was arrested in June. The airport is aware of the call for a boycott, but so far is not worried about a possible loss of business.

"Frankly, I’ve been in that Minnesota airport many times. Virtually everything Senator Craig did, I have done," Cushman told ALRA members in an e-mail.

and pick up paper in a public bathroom...

How revealing...

Oh and exactly what profile did Mr. Craig fit?

White, late middle age, upper class MALE?

My...my... didn't know white, upper class, males were a group under threat in this country.

they actually believe isn't guilty of what he pleaded guilty to.

Can we please have more of this? Can more weird groups come forward to express their support of Craig? Nothing would make me happier than the endless rehashing of this story in the MSM for months to come.

Yeah, but did you do them in exactly the same way and in the same order (the particular foot shuffle, hand signal, etc)?

Why airport cops in Minneapolis would be "declaring war on the west" is beyond me.

A very different scenario if Craig had fought it from the beginning. He has no credibility now and neither does this organization.

28. Just out of curiosity...
I tried the "wide stance" in a restroom stall at work. My pants didn't let my legs go closer than six inches to the walls. I would have to have my pants off or intentionally be trying to stick my foot under the partition. However, if Sen. Craig was taking a dump with his pants still up then I'd buy his story, but it'd still mean he was full of shit.

15. While I might agree that it was 'overzealous' ( it fits right in with the obvious move to
a police state), I fail to understand how it's a 'war on the West'. Does he mean west of the Mississippi? Or the western hemisphere? And who is waging this 'war on the West'?

17. How do you boycott an airport?
Are you seriously going to drive to another city to fly out of, or if you don't live in Minnesota, are you going to make sure you choose flights that don't have layovers/connections there? Maybe you can start small and not buy any overpriced snacks while waiting for your plane. That'll show 'em!

It's so funny that law-and-order republicans who normally don't have problems with things like entrapment, racial profiling, etc. are making bathroom police out to be worse than the Gestapo. If this had been an ordinary joe trolling for bathroom sex getting caught, they wouldn't care.

35. Minneapolis can easily solve the problem... City Council can temporarily change
the name of the airport to the Ronald Reagan Int'l Airport. It would be sacrilege for them not to fly there.

As a side they could name one of the rest rooms the "Larry Craig Conference Rooms" and another one the "George W Bush Library"

it WAS "overzealous police profiling and entrapment."

If they want to cut down on assignations in public restrooms, have a uniform cop cruise the bathrooms...

It would work better and be cheaper...
