Does anyone else remember raising an eyebrow at the new rhetoric after 9/11? |
|
Words like annihilation, evil doers, homeland security...
At first I made fun of W's new phrase of "evil doers." Then when we declared the only answer for Al Quaida was annihilation (Graham just used the phrase again today), I started really worrying.
And then we came up with Homeland Security. Der Fatherland? This scared the shit out of me.
Today, Osama came back on cue. Said that the Dems were his buddies. Looked as if they couldn't find the same actor.
What's with the grainy videos? You can get a good camera with a good size memory stick, card, disk and sneak it to Al Jazeera and they could rebroadcast it in all its digital glory. But no... they seem to use the same video tape that they have used since they first taped Darryl Hannah as a mermaid.
Shit. Just how stupid do they think we are?

suddenly a banker from Florida can "pass" as Abe Lincoln, in real life he's 5 inches shorter, balding and has a different shaped nose but the cut of the jaw and the eyebrows are the same, add a fake beard and voila, it's Abe.

That was just a sign to me that things might be about to become unthinkably bad. And they have.

7. Yes. And, though I'm in a minority opinion here, I think they believe their rhetoric. |
|
Lies, obfuscation, sleights of hand, smoke screens and all the other political ploys aside, I think they actually believe the rhetoric. And hence the ends justify their means.
imho, that's the most troubling aspect of the whole scenario.

I have some RW friends and cannot fathom why they believe this BS. But they do with a fervor. Now THAT's scary.

11. When they said "Act of War" I started screaming. |
|
I knew it was the worst possible thing to say. The only MANLY response would be WAR. Which instantly elevated bin Ladin whosis to a head of state, and the previously unknown scruffy al qaeda to nationhood. It gave them status and respect. And publicity. Kinda funny from the bunch who wanted everything kept secret.
I kept muttering Reichstag. Guiliani was counseling calm, while Bush, when he was finally found, did his best to ramp up hysteria. If he was a paid enemy agent, he could not have done worse by us.

Grainy videos, indeed! With 300 million, you think he could arrange to have a DVD made. I mean, he made 2 planes demolish the WTC. Remotely.
