Oscar-Winner Duvall To Host Big-Bucks Fundraiser For Giuliani
We opened yesterday's mail to see that Academy Award-winning actor and director Robert Duvall and his fourth wife, Luciana, will host a high-end cocktail party at their country home in The Plains, Va., later this month to benefit Republican presidential candidate Rudolph W. Giuliani.

The invitation to the Sept. 20 gala requests a campaign contribution of $2,300 per guest, which gets you a photo with the candidate (and maybe even the celebrated actor). Others can fork over $1,000 ($500 if you're younger than 35) to mingle about the Middleburg-area estate and listen to Mr. Giuliani's remarks.

2. Politics aside, Duvall is an excellent actor.
In fact, he's the only GOP-affiliated actor I know of with actual talent.

!Caramba! Rudy himself has had only three, but in his defense as an apostle of Republican Family Values(TM), one of them was to his own cousin.

10. Great opportunity for some activism
A screening of Greenwald's Giuliani movie on the side of the nearest large building would make for a nice thematic evening for Duvall's guests.

Enjoy the art and forget about the person. This applies to any and all "artists". I don't give two shits what the political position of any actor, singer, dancer, painter, sculptor so on consists of. Especially actors, since many of them don't have much of an education, some of them didn't even finish high school. My only criteria is whether or not they are good at their art. Duvall is superb, I would see any film he's in, and pay to do so.

You people getting all bent out of shape about Duvall are in the same position of those who blasted the Dixie Chicks.

EDIT: And there's this: At least Republican artists put their money where their mouth is, so to speak.

Despite ALL the political activism of leftist artists, just HOW MANY of them have run for public office, yet even been elected? Seem like those artists on the left want to talk the talk, but not walk the walk.

to see straight through these FASCISTS, with Fascistrudy leading the pack of jackals, so I can conclude that he's dumber than a fucking bag of shit.

I don't care if that asshole is in the best movie in town..I will never pay to see his ugly ass on the screen again. It's our Country, duvall, not your corporate no fly list, repuke family have no values..you had your fucking chance and ya blew..bye see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya.

27. he's a HUGE, gaping, flaming, macho asshole. one of the biggest jerks I've
ever heard

he did a long interview with Howard Stern, wherein he reveals the depths of his political ignorance, his misogyny, general cruelty, and all around repulsiveness.

truly, one of the most loathsome characters to which I've ever been exposed

I used to admire him, as well as his work, until I heard him reveal his black soul. a true narcissist/psychopath; not that unusual in the acting profession

36. Anybody that would support Fascistrudy
at a time like this has been working and playing with his head up his ass for way too long .. I can certainly imagine him giving Stern an earful on his general maladustment.

duval is in need of serious help and this is a little different than our Dixie Chicks. For one thing I'm not threatening duval's life like those freeper assholes or calling up stations to have them ban his work..I'm just not gonna let any of my money contribute to his warped sense of reality.

34. Error in story
The Washington Times writes, "Mr. Duvall, who is a descendant of both Robert E. Lee and George Washington, announced his support for Mr. Giuliani earlier this week."

Geoge Washington had NO descendents. He never had any children (you can google George Washington's children for verification). Martha, George's wife, had a son Jack from a previous marriage. Jack's granddaughter married Robert E. Lee, the famous Confederate general in the Civil War.

So, it's possible that Duvall is a descendent of Robert E. Lee, but it's not possible that he is a descendent of George Washington.
