"Do Not Call" list expires Sept. 15, 2007
First question is OBVIOUSLY why would it expire?
That is ridiculous.
Anyway...make sure you update your numbers.

The reason is because, little did we know, the "Do Not Call" list came with an expiration date.

Only if you signed up 5 years ago, you have until next Saturday, September 15th, to sign up again.

It's easy.

You can register by phone at 888-382-1222.

Or, you can log onto to www.donotcall.gov.

4. Of course ....
Bizzyness rulze in Fascist America.

Notice that your occupation of Iraq didn't come with any expiration date or an opt-out?

Damn we spend so much in this occupation that we could have all started our own telephone boiler rooms and ended poverty in this country at the same time.

6. 5 Year Registrations

My National Do-Not-Call registry:
will expire on 10/5/2009

which is 5 years from first subscribing, which is the Limit...
on 10/5/2009 I may sign up for another 5 year stint,

i sure don't know the facts of your particular registration
but it's different than mine is. !

thanks

5. REGISTRATION EXPIRES 5 YEARS FROM YOUR REGISTRATION DATE.
You can find out your expiration date by going to donotcall.gov, and use the verify link to enter your number and email address. An email is sent with the information.

8. Yea, WTF? Are there actually people after 5 years who are saying to
themselves, "you know, I've missed those annoying telemarketers bothering me. I can't wait for my number to expire."?? :eyes:

Thanks for the reminder!

21. What, you mean you don't miss them?
My registration expired a few months ago because it was uploaded from the state list and it was stunning how fast and furious the telemarketing calls were.

I think there is plenty of evidence that those of us who signed up in the first place want to keep our places on the Do-Not-Call list.

The stunning popularity of the list should be a reminder to consumers that if enough of us stand up and complain, maybe companies (or as a last resort, the government) will take note.

18. I don't quite understand
I saw this as a headline yesterday, and read about it again today.

I take it the whole service isn't expiring, you just have to "re-up" with your phone numbers again. But why put that you have to do so by a certain time? If you don't renew while you have are active on the Do Not Call list, do you not get to sign back up for it again?

I went ahead and re-registered just in case that was what was happening.

19. To be clear this is just for people who signed up when the program first started correct?
I just got my current phone line a year ago so I think I should be on the do not call list for another four years before I have to renew correct? If I am wrong please let me know because even being on the do not call list I still get too many telemarketers considering all the exceptions the law makes, if I get taken off the list I will be pulling my hair out because I hate getting interrupted by telemarketers.
