David Sedaris on French health care
One funny man.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7JJ-tK7-gIk

But he does point out the stark differences in health care in France.

14. Sedaris, and MagickMuffin's journal entry on HHB Nour and Iraq
I too have enjoyed Sedaris' books.

On a different subject( this site prevents me from sending
IM's yet):Thanks MagickMuffin for the journal. Where did you
find the info on HHB and their Iraq contract? I looked under
Gsa.gov and a website listing the top 200 contractors and
didnt see HHB(Hard Hat Bid) listed.

6. I've actually had someone read me his stories over the phone.
A cool friend reading cool stories by a cool author.

How cool is that? :)

10. The best source for his work is This American Life.
http://www.thislife.org You can also find some very good Sarah Vowell.

One of the best shows is entitled "Music Lessons." Do a search at their site for that show. It features Sedaris, Vowell, then Anne La Mott. It will have you laughing out loud.

11. i've sent forkboy links to This American Life, too,
in addition to reading Sedaris to him. I've read to him the story of David taking guitar lessons.

one of my all time favorites. From "Take The Cannoli." by Sarah Vowell. Search Sarah Vowell on the TAL site.

You need to read her "Assassination Vacation."

Sarah and David are two of the wittiest writers out there.

7. One of my favorites, thanks
David told us that he quit smoking(!) the last time we went to see him. Me Talk Pretty One Day is right up there with his book Naked. His writing makes me laugh so hard that I resort to reading him when no one else is within earshot.

15. David Sedaris? He's hi-LAR-ious!
As his sister Amy would say.

I don't know if I've ever laughed as hard as when I read the title essay in "Me Talk Pretty One Day."
