bush has been required to submit a report to congress on the progress of his surge. Someone says 'petraeus'. The word is uttered. Someone else repeats it. Groups of people pass this 'petraeus' back & forth and voila!! Like some strange deathly surreal little parlor game g.w. bush's responsibility for submitting a report to congress (which should have been a dead-freaking-giveaway in that g.w. bush is never responsible for anything!!! ha...ha...ha) becomes The Petraeus Report :patriot:

There is no Petraeus Report. There was never going to be. It is still g.w. bush's report; Gen. Petraeus is just going to help write it along with his sense of military career & history, make it fluffy, and deliver it from the inside of his uniform to congress cause like a book report for a book g.w. bush could never...ever read all by himself, his report will be delivered nonetheless.

Aren't there any dems in DC able to understand that they aren't being hoodwinked, or snookered; they're shaving their own points that are giving the game away :dilemma:

1. How about Durbin?

Dems already discount war report
By S.A. Miller
September 6, 2007

Sen. Richard J. Durbin, Illinois Democrat, talked with reporters yesterday in Washington. "We know what is going to be in it," he said of the Iraq war report next week. "I expect the Bush report to say, 'The surge is working. Let's have more of the same.' "

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Congressional Democrats are trying to undermine U.S. Army Gen. David H. Petraeus' credibility before he delivers a report on the Iraq war next week, saying the general is a mouthpiece for President Bush and his findings can't be trusted.

"The Bush report?" Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin said when asked about the upcoming report from Gen. Petraeus, U.S. commander in Iraq.

"We know what is going to be in it. It's clear. I think the president's trip over to Iraq makes it very obvious," the Illinois Democrat said. "I expect the Bush report to say, 'The surge is working. Let's have more of the same.' "

The top Democrats — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California — also referred to the general's briefing as the "Bush report."

Looks like Reid and Pelosi are on top of it as well. :hi:

3. i'm not talking so much when time is still of the essence; but that frozen moment in time...
when people have perhaps the last opportunity to effect anything...before it has past and becomes law, myth, or folk lore

we could lay it all at the feet of MSM, but that would be silly

2. I've questioned this for a long time, and especially since the
Dems took the majority, but STILL are unable to shut the damn Pubs up! I don't believe it has anything to do with the Dems not having any good lawyers. I can think of quite a few AI consider good and very knowledgable of the law, like Schumer, Webb, Brown, Leahy etc, and none of them are shrinking violates either! I honestly don't know why they seem so inept. If you figure it out, let me know!

5. I don't buy that either, there's something else, and I can't place it yet.
Look at the difference between the Biden, Dodd & even Hillary on the campaign trail, and what you see and hear on the Senate floor. If it were only Dodd & Biden, I'd blame it on them being in the Senate a LONG time and still abide by the "you must be a geltleman on the floor and show respect for your fellow Senators" idea, but it's NOT! Hillary hasn't been there that long and wouldn't be so indoctrinated.

6. i'm feeling you on this; it can't be just fear of being called unpatriotic...
republicans toss that old chestnut round like candy-corn on thanksgiving, hope it isn't mere political expediency = preservation of political/personal hide, etc...and i cannot get past some prospect that they simply do not understand

but something is shorting out that circuitry...maybe we should send back more omega3 fish oil, or blue-green algae or something cause like Little Big Man's GrandFather says throughout,

"It worries me."
