Overwhelmed or something else?

US President George W. Bush waits for the start of the Leaders' Retreat, during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit at the Sydney Opera House. Bush said he would make a speech, expected next week, to defend his strategy in Iraq and urge the war-weary US public to rally behind it.(AFP/Mandel Ngan )

6. I could not agree more.
Like you I think he gets easily bored with the specifics of the job. But he loves to take pictures and hand wave.

19. Yeh.
Sometimes he seems bored, sometimes he seems like he just hates to be bothered.

22. feeds, literally!
Here is a quote from a biography of Bush. He evidently enjoys the perks of the presidency, but can't stomach the long hours and "hard work" it requires. Likes his naps, early nights, and long exercise breaks too much ...

http://dir.salon.com/story/books/review/2002/03/04/bruni/index.html

Perhaps more disturbing, Bruni also paints a man who is astonishingly shallow and unreflective. Riffing after the election about his upcoming presidency, Bush can't get beyond his genuine fascination with the White House mess hall: "The dessert menu is unbelievable ... esterday at the Blair House we had this, I'm not even sure, coffee ice cream surrounded by this unbelievable meringue, beautiful meringue." And Bruni informs us that well into his first year in office Bush is "still raving about ... little red button in the private dining room off the Oval Office that he could use to summon the butler."

3. that right there is a man who realizes, way too late mind you, but realizes he has been fucking up
bigtime and there's nothing short of a miracle that will change that and him being a non-believer and all he knows the miracle won't happen. That my friends is the look of a man who wishes he had overs, he'd never allow himself to be here in the first place if he did.

But when Bush sits down, the whole room starts spinning, this is why he's hanging on to the table

And so they tread very very carefully around him. And wait, with fingers crossed.

The world knows he is an unstable man-child way over his head on this job and just maybe nutty enough to unleash a nuke.

21. He's a soulless man...the perfect stooge for the powers that are using him
A cold, narcissistic person with no conscience.

The fact that the corporate media have supported him for so long and the Democrats have been ineffective in stopping him speaks volumes about our current situation.
