2. Yes he used to be on every Sunday it seemed like...
he is pulling no punches - says killing all of the jihadists will
not stop the war or the sectarian violence.
Says the war must end.

book copies, signed...." Promises to Keep", ............I'll keep one and use the other for a Silent Auction item at our Democratic Club.

I actually ordered it directly from the Joseph Fox Book Store in Philadelphia...

Here:

They host the Book Signings! This is a family business too.

They also have a store on E-Bay.

4. Biden is positioning himself perfectly on iraq
his involvement, his analysis and his solution. I'm surprised his poll numbers aren't higher.

5. It is difficult for me to understand why he isn't a front runner
I know a lot of folks seem to think he is far to cozy with big money interests, and I also know it would be difficult for any politician to come from Delaware and not get that label (the STATE has very liberal laws concerning the formation of corporations, so lots of corporations are incorporated there).

6. IT amazes me that he is not considered a 'top tier' candidate..
At the very least, I would like to see him as Secretary of State.
Biden knows foreign relations inside out.

7. I have such a big crush on Senator Biden!
It's probably because he has such impeccable manners. Good manners get me every time. He'd make an outstanding vice presidential candidate for a certain Senator from New York.

11. Joe "More War" Biden also refused to cut war funding on that show....
Edited on Sun Sep-09-07 03:43 PM by BlooInBloo
That might be more important for the public to know, even if his supporters don't want to publicize it.

13. Yes he did and offered a plausible explanation.
that C&L did not even cover.

Yes everyone should be Fully aware of what he said, not just
the biased recap at C&L.

Biden just came back from Iraq, I think he may have a good
grasp on what he saw. Cutting funding will not be an absolute
sure-fire way to bring the troops home. First - it costs to
bring them home, it costs to keep them armed and fed until they
are home...etc. Anyone who thinks cutting funds will stop the
war is not seeing the fallout of cutting those funds. I want the
troops home but, I would not leave them hanging with no funds as
unstable as Iraq is at this point. Funds feed, clothe, and arm
our soldiers.
What we need is a gradual draw-down of troops - that takes money
too by the way. We need to begin it immediately.

Just my opinion and Biden is not my pick as a candidate - I think
he would be a great Secretary of State as I mentioned above.

14. He openly discussed his reasons for....
... being against cutting the funds. Your right to agree or disagree with him, of course, but he was being honest about it, so do not accuse him of dissembling I am not 100% sure where I stand on this myself, but I cannot criticize him for having a sensible position that he seems passionate about. The example he gave with that special vehicle he is championing, whatever it is called, and the protection it offers against IEDs was quite amazing.

16. He just loves to be on TV & talk shit.
Meet The Press: Senator Joe Biden Will Not Vote To Cut Funding For Iraq Occupation

This morning on Meet The Press, Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden walks in lockstep with right-wing talking points on Iraq funding. When asked by host Tim Russert if he would vote to cut off funding for Iraq if President Bush refuses to accept a withdrawal date, Biden moves directly to the “cutting off funding means you don’t support the troops” mentality pulled straight from the pages of the RNC playbook. Instead of speaking the truth, that it means appropriating funds to begin a safe and smart withdrawal from the country, not abandoning out troops, Biden instead says he won’t vote to cut off funding and chooses to chastise Democrats who support it.

Biden could get the nomination..... if all the others dropped out. He knows that he has zero chance. I think that he just loves to be on TV & talk shit.

15. He was very good!
As were Kennedy and Kerry on the other morning shows. Feinstein on Fox was rather weak, especially when faced with that increasingly insane attack dog Lidsey Graham.
