Bush Says New Osama Video a Reminder of Danger
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gPfuhKxWr6wuItnKxaSAXAu3-2wA

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush said Osama bin Laden's mention of the Iraq war in his video message is a reminder of al-Qaida's long-term objectives in Iraq and of the "dangerous world in which we live."

"Iraq is part of this war against extremists," Bush said, responding to the terrorist leader's message but never using his name. "If al-Qaida bothers to mention Iraq, it's because they want to achieve their objectives in Iraq, which is to drive us out."

Bin Laden's video, part of which was broadcast by Al-Jazeera television, emerged just days before the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

In a 30-minute speech addressed to Americans, bin Laden mocks the democratic system of government in the United States and lambastes the Bush administration for initiating the war in Iraq.

Bush, attending a summit of Pacific Rim leaders in Sydney, Australia, said: "The tape is a reminder about the dangerous world in which we live, and it's a reminder that we must work together to protect our people against these extremists who murder the innocent in order to achieve their political objectives."

3. it serves as a reminder that your deadly war of choice
and your cavalier comment that OBL no longer intrests you and that he is irrelevant was a cost of that war - and that you are a miserable failure. Oh - jr. contrary to your comments at APEC - there is no indication that we are "kicking ass in Iraq". Idiot.

5. This is a reminder of Bush's failure
If we would have done our job in Afghanistan we would not been reminded of Osama bin Laden. Your failure Bush was keeping our men and women in a unjust war for your cause. Thats what this tape means to me.

7. How very convenient for Bush...
Edited on Sun Sep-09-07 09:34 AM by liberalmuse
that his best buddy pops up everytime he could use some help. It would be fitting if both Bush and bin Laden were to be hanged side by side for crimes against humanity.

edited for punctuation

8. To say there is evil in the world, and to not look for the cause/catalyst
for that evil and address it is imho EVIL. Everyone knows that of all the countries in the ME, Iraq was the most westernized (that could be a problem for many Islamic extremists) had more PhD.'s per capita than the U.S., was home to many unfettered Christian churches, with rights for women not found in many other ME countries including Saudi Arabia which provided us with the men who brought down the towers.

9. There is something about that whole tape that rang
"untrue"--something makes me question the whole thing.
Still thinking--trying to understand my own questioning.
