What does the Democratically controlled Congress have to lose by denying Bush*
more money for Iraq? Congress's approval ratings are even lower than those of Cheney's or Bush*'s. What are they waiting for, to hit zero? It is quite evident to every single member of Congress that people in America are not happy with what they have either been doing or not been doing. Does it take a genius to suggest a change of tactics? Democrats came into office in 2006 with quite high ratings. They have squandered those ratings by allowing America to continue on the same course that the American people wanted changed. It is not just the Iraq Occupation but every aspect of the Republican Agenda. Are they truly brain dead? Do they think America elected a Democratic Majority because it is too damn Liberal? Is there any thought process going on at all? Why would they possibly think America wants a Conservative Agenda after the 2006 election? Well they are insuring that very thing by their inaction because many loyal Liberals will just not vote for more of the same. They will just not vote at all if this is what happens when they do..Democrats better wake up soon because they are not in nearly as strong a position as they believe they are. They think they are a shoe-in because the Republican scandals at the moment are putting their opposition in such a bad light but they are not benefiting by it and in fact what I am seeing and hearing is "they are all the same" and damned if the Democrats aren't bound and determined to prove that to be correct..

1. "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose"
They might as well grow a pair and try to cut the funding for the occupation. Biden's talking about throwing more money at Iraq to protect "these kids," but anyone who votes to keep funding Iraq votes to keep funding the raping of innocent Iraqi girls, the massacre of innocent Iraqi civilians, and the plundering of Iraq's oil and mineral resources in order to enrich a select few.

So yeah, I'd cut the funding.

2. "Democratically controlled" but not veto/filibuster proof
We need to elect more Democrats to congress, and return a Democrat to the Whitehouse.

7. We don't need to break a veto or filibuster, we need to make a filibuster.

Filibuster every defense funding bill that funds the war in Iraq. Filibuster every single one that funds anything in Iraq except redeploying every single American servicemember and all serviceable and salvageable American military equipment in Iraq back to the U.S.

We only need 41 Senators to do that. There are 49 Democratic Senators, last time I checked, plus two independents (one which will actually work with us, the other's Lieberman.)

"But Fox Noise and the GOP will say bad things about us implying we don't Support The Troops(TM) if we do that!" Fuck that! They'll badmouth us no matter what we do, so why don't you Congressional invertebrates grow a spine and do the right thing for a change?

9. Also until the Administration submits to the subpoenas that have been issued
Stop the Government until the Administration answers to the people...Stop all business, all business until the Administration admits it shares power with Congress and the Judiciary. We do not have a monarchy in this country...The Administration is not a kingdom..It answers to the people and Congress is the voice of the people and is demanding answers... Stop all legislation and all funding that is not the immediate financing of government payroll. Stop the government until we determine just what sort of government the USA currently has..

4. I don't know, but I can tell you what they have to lose by NOT denying him more money.
The 2008 elections.

Too bad they don't know it.

5. they are terrified of us....
i think bush told them 'if i go down, i ratting you all out' and the men/women running usa etc know it only take one slip-o-the-tongue to trigger an overthrow of gov. or a 'refusal to cooperate' by the rightwing police/military/biz comm.s etc (imagine if condi rice, for example, was to say '911 was a domestic terror operation, carried out by NSA for your own benefit, so please let's not playact we're fools ok, cuz you knew it all the time') and even more frightening, to the democrats in particular, is a leftwing revolution swamping the earlier rightwing one - entailing mass executions of all mediawhotres and repuke officials etc (the anger of the population is literally a powder keg- and they, our boss class, know tens of thousands of them will probably die if a spark ever occurs)
GO BUSH! hahjaha...

6. Good God I think you
jumped out of my brain. I have been saying the exact same thing. Wake up Congress/we elected a democrat majority for a reason....sick of the same ol republican shit that you appear to keep on trotting by. Stir up the stink that you sprouted off at the mouth about when you were seeking election into Congress. It appears to me they all got castrated and don't want to "cause trouble", well that is why you were elected...to put an end to the same ol shit and good ol' boy tactics. I'm almost to the point of being ashamed of them.
